About Quidditch: "Quidditch is a game played by witches and wizards flying on broom sticks. There are 2 teams, each of seven players. On each team, there are: -2 Beaters -3 Chasers -1 Keeper -and one Seeker There are also four balls: -the Quaffle -the 2 Bludgers -and the Golden Snitch OK. The 2 beaters are armed with clubs with which to hit the bludgers. the bludgers zoom around and try to knock players off their brooms. The beaters try to hit the Bludgers away from their teammates and toward the other team. The 3 chasers play with the Quaffle. It's a big red ball. They throw it between each other and try and put it through the other team's hoops, big hoops on posts in the air. The Keeper guards the hoops of his team. The seeker flies around the field, all over, trying to capture the Golden Snitch. This ball is small and has wings, plus it's very elusive. When the snitch is captured by a team, they get 150 points, as opposed to the Chasers who only score 10 points per Quaffle score. When the snitch is captured, the game ends, and whoever is ahead in points wins." -text from here |
