What Marvel Say: The spanking-new web-slinger takes on his first super-villain - the mute, monstrous Green Goblin - when Norman Osborn strikes against Spider-Man as only he can. Plus: Peter Parker spins his very first web! Meanwhile, newspaper publisher J. Jonah Jameson takes a sunden interest in our young hero. What Jonathan Says to part 1: Well since Marvel have just given away the true indetity of the mysterious monster in the previous issue, I may aswell too. The Green Goblin is Norman Osborn (after the dodgy injection in a few issues before). So on with the story. We open the comic to the face of J. Jonah Jameson who is the leader of the 'Daily Bugle', the NYC newspaper (which also happens to be the most popular newspaper in Marvel history!). He's having a go at his workers about the 'crap' stuff that's in the current newspaper and tells them that he wants the center of media attention at the moment in his paper which just so happens to be... Spider-Man! Meanwhile the web-slinger himself, Peter Parker is at home celebrating for he has finally completed his experiments (which were originally started by his late father)... the webs!! Yet another one of Spidey's trademarks have been developed! The next day at school, after breaking another desk, Peter bumps into Harry Osborn... then KABOOM!!! The whole school goes up in smoke and as everyone is being evacuated Harry shouts "Someone help! He's going to kill me!"... but who's gonna kill him? |
