BUENA PARK Several visitors to
Knott's Berry Farm were stranded about 10 minutes
Friday when a roller-coaster car malfunctioned,
leaving it stuck on the tracks. No injuries were reported in the
2:30 p.m. mishap on the Boomerang roller coaster,
which features a corkscrew turn and vertical
loop, said Susan Tierney, spokeswoman for the
theme park.
"The train got
stuck in an area we call the saddle, between two
inverted areas," Tierney said. "No part
of the train was upside down."
Riders were escorted
down a catwalk and off the ride. Boomerang
remained closed late Friday while crews
investigated the problem.
