Description |
L'Orbital was built around its central spire - a 60 story tall, 100 meter wide open cylinder. The bottom of the spire slopes providing terraced cafe's and shops with a great casino at the bottom. The top most balcony (looking down through the whole station) is the Elite Rollers Casino - a classy Victorian styled complex of gamehouses and bars for the system's most wealthy. Legends of vast fortunes gained and lost here (as well as big loosers leaping off the main balcony) circulate through known space. One of L'Orbital's signature symbols is its great chandelier. Atop the great open spire that runs down the length of the station is an immense gilded chandelier, adorned with precious metals, gleamig lights and even spun metal cages with birds (and other exotic animals). The chandelier is expertly crafted and takes advantage of the near zero gravity at the top of the spire to produce an elegant and seemingly impossible feat of artistic expression. L'Orbital is expertly run by Rufus McCarthy, more commonly referred to as "The Manager" (or Mr. Manager). An enigmatic man, no one is really sure where Rufus came from. Rumors say he is a retired spy from the Urals or a belt miner who struck it big. Surely his dark hair, average build and complexion and lack of any accent gives away no details to his point of origin. |

History |
Blah Recently, due to a number of "incidents", L'Orbital has purchased six F-17 Talon fighters (painted in a mottled blue and black) to use as an external security detail. Mostly they escort rich VIPs and provide the occasional aerospace show (or guest ride), but the pilots are all well trained (and well paid) veterans. |
