Verdant jewel of the hills
Madhya Pradesh's most verdant jewel, a place where Nature has found exquisite expression
in a myriad enchanting ways. Each dawn at this lovely hill resort girdled by the Satpura
ranges ushers in a day of tranquil beauty.
The valley, ravines and maze of gorges, sculpted in red sandstone by wind and weather aeons ago,
add their own coloring to this palette of shades, and cascading waterfalls flash silver in the
sunshine.
Forests here are the natural habitat of woodland birds and wild species like langur, sambar, Indian
bison and leopard.Complementing the magnificence of Nature are the works of Man, for Pachmarhi
is also an archaeological treasure house. Cave shelters in the Mahadeo hills contain an astonishing
richness in rock paintings. Pachmarhi is truly a resort for all seasons. Nature and Man have
together created a place of beauty, a world in itself.
