Student to student Oct 2nd 2002
"We can all hang together, or we can each hang separately." (B. Franklin) Your fellow students are an important academic resource. They can explain the point you missed in class, or supply you notes to the class you missed. Course veterans can help you sort out what you should know from what you could know, crucial for success when you're pressed for time, or show you how to apply what you learned in Macro. We don't have teaching assistants to distill 20 hours of lecture into 10 topics you're likely to see in an hour exam. Instructors aren't shy about flagging the big ideas in lecture, some even conduct exam reviews, but often it's someone who's just finished a course who best understands the trouble you're having with it and can best advise you how to succeed. If you've written a paper or completed a course, you are in at least a small way an expert, whose expertise may be of value to another student. The goal of Student To Student is to introduce student "domain experts" to their peers who can benefit from that expertise. We have some ideas about how to accomplish this, but we'd like to hear yours. Come to the next Economics Club meeting, or contact us by e-mail if you can't attend. We look forward to meeting you. |
