The Cast Of "The Last Supper"
The roles of Jesus and His twelve, have been played by many different
actors over the past 11 years of the "Last Supper" drama.
Claude Cameron "Nathaniel", Steve Pracht "James the Lesser", David Shahan
"Judas", Bobby Boydston "John", Barre Griffith "James", and Tom Herrin
"Simon", are all original cast members that are still playing their respective
parts. Terry Little "Andrew", Mike Stevens "Peter", Doyle Greteman "Thomas"
Joe Williams "Jesus", Bob Cleary "Phillip", Mike Thomas "Thaddus", and
Jess Young "Matthew", have each joined the cast over the years. Each of
the men, has added his own personal touch to the part that he plays. These
actors have researched the lives of their disciples, some writing their
own lines into the script. Members of the cast have expressed that they
have grown spiritually by their participation in the "Last Supper." Becoming
closer to the Christ by portraying His disciples, if only for a few nights.
On the two nights of the presentation, the cast arrives several hours
early. The actors in turn go to the make up room, where their faces are
transformed into close representations of the disciples that they portray.
Many of the cast also put on wigs so even their hair will look as much
like their studies as possible. Each actor must remove all jewelry, glasses
and any modern day trappings that would not be in character with their
part. Then, each actor puts on his costume and is transformed into a contemporary
of Jesus Himself. As the performance time draws near, the actors review
their lines, and then just moments before they go on stage, heads are
bowed for prayer.
