Led by fan favorites "Pickles" and "Lobotomy Girl" the Blue Lightning are a talented group of professional
individuals striving to be the best and positively
representing the Winnipeg Football Club...
No, we’re
not talking about the football players. This time, we’re
talking about the Blue Lightning Dance Team.
The Blue
Lightning Dance Team is a collection of 25 highly talented
young women who serve as terrific ambassadors for the Winnipeg
Football Club. Whether it’s at a football game, a sponsor
function or a charity event, you can count on the Blue
Lightning Dance Team to be there, front and centre.
Groups such as the Bomberettes and the Blue Brigade
have encouraged fans to cheer in the past, but since their
formation in 1996, the Blue Lightning Dance Team has taken on
greater roles and responsibilities.
Led by
choreographer Lucy Reveco and assistant Tina Zebinski, the
squad regularly represents the football club in the community.
Every year, usually in March, about 100 women audition
to be members of the squad.
After the team is
selected, it trains continuously prior to and throughout the
football season.
The training is more than just a
rehearsal of routines. It also includes rigorous physical
fitness training.
As they are representatives of the
football club, members of the Blue Lightning Dance Team must
follow a strict guideline of rules and regulations.
The Blue Lightning Dance Team is not everyone... it is
only for those individuals committed to excellence and
achievement.
Requesting members of the Blue Lightning
Dance Team to appear at your event is easy. All you have to do
is contact Promotions Manager Kate Gameiro for an APPEARANCE
REQUEST FORM. Requests for appearances must be submitted a
minimum of three (3) weeks in advance of the event. Booking
fees for the Blue Lightning Dance Team are as follows:
CHARITY/COMMUNITY EVENTS
Members of the Blue
Lightning Dance Team will make a limited number of non-paid
appearances each year, subject to availability and discretion
of the football club. Many organizations offer the Blue
Lightning Dance Team honorariums, which are greatly
appreciated. Non-paid appearances will be limited to one (1)
hour in length. Costs for travel outside the Perimeter must be
paid by the requesting group, with a minimum of $20.00 paid to
the Blue Lightning Dance Team.

EVENTS
Corporate partners of the football club may book
the Blue Lightning Dance Team for $25.00 + GST per Blue
Lightning member, per hour, with a minimum booking of two (2)
members at one (1) hour each.
COMMERCIAL/NON-SPONSOR
EVENTS
Hosts of commercial and/or non-sponsor events may
book the Blue Lightning Dance Team for $40.00 + GST per Blue
Lightning member, per hour, with a minimum booking of two (2)
members at one (1) hour each.
