BOMBERS SET TO TAKE ON TITANIC TASK

Sept 28, 2001 WINNIPEG, MB - The Blue Bombers owner spoke today with the media, making it apparent that his team is ready for a 'Titanic' task. "The task will certainly be titanic," he said, "these Argos are the worst nautical disaster since Leonardo DiCaprio died. Have you seen their roster? They are 6-6 now and set to lose their QB next year, the ship is sinking and going down quickly." When asked to elaborate on the Argos roster Yost stated "Do I have to name names? They took Baffoe, an underachieving, unhappy Fullback off of our hands for our new top return guy. I would be bitter too if I had been humiliated so. Their kicking game is atrocious too; he almost makes me think they have another Lammle on their hands.

"Never mind the rest of his poor crop of no-names and has-beens. I mean can anyone honestly expect an owner who spent 2000 defending Kerwin Bell to make good personnel decisions? That's why our manager of personnel has such a damn big head, so he can really think about who to get and not just randomly pick players from a hat.

"Ron should stick to what he knows best, and that is reliving the Argo's glory years, not trying to remake them. His record speaks for itself. I am trying to turn a team around, he's busy driving one into the ground."

Ken also spent a great deal of time defending his staff from what he called "petty lies" that Philipp had been spreading. "Let's make it clear if ESW was half the DPP Ron figures himself to be, he'd still be twice the DPP Ron is. ESW has helped turn this team around a corner, just as he saw the Argos turning down that road we were once on. The Argos have been playing bad ball for the past 4 weeks. They beat Edmonton, but heck even the 2001 CFL Argos could beat that Edmonton team..."

When asked about the comments made about Simon Baffoe and himself, Ken had this to say "I'd be bitter too if I were sent down from a team moving up to a team sliding slowly into the dustbin of CanSFL history. The guy was cancer when he was here, and if Ron wants to make such ridiculous claims that Baffoe is damaged goods, he can. Next time he should scout a player before he trades for him.

"While I'm at it I want to categorically deny that I ever played strip checkers. Anyone who knows me knows it's Strip Bridge or nothing for me. And if anyone wants to sully my name with such wild accusations they can, just expect to hear from my lawyer. And as for me being a media whore, he can think what he wants but at least the Winnipeg press knows we have a pro football team."

The Argos and Winnipeg play at CanadInn Stadium this Saturday night and is broadcast on TSN.
