After a bad start to the weekend with the
closure of our home ground things got worse having North Shore default
on game day due to lack of numbers. A scratch match was agreed to and
with several new players turning up was a good chance to get involved
and see how footy is played. Although the game in the most part lacked
the intensity of a competition game some players excelled and stood out.
Miggsy, Burls and New Boy Marty impressed and made sure that North Shore
new that we were for real. However it was disappointing to see some
players especially senior players stand back and not play the way they
would normally play. Bad habits and stupid mistakes that would normally
not happen in a competition game were costly in this game in allowing
several soft uncontested goals. The new guys got a lot of good playing time and looked to be valuable assets to the team for the remainder of the year. Welcome Back to Jim, Wayne, Rob and Andy, nice to have you back on board. With no game this coming weekend it is important we keep focused at training looking forward to the next game against Manurewa which will be a test for us. Keep up the hard work and success will follow. |
