| After a slow start not helped by some very inaccurate goal kicking with the wind we slowly settled into the game. Our on ballers controlled the ruck and centre areas for the first half and we battled to hold a slim lead at the half. The second half was basically a case of solid defense with Howie, Froggy and Ruckman Pete proving rock solid at the back in the closing moments. A gritty 2 point win wasn't pretty but the gutsy effort to defend and hold on was crucial. Glen was best on ground in what was a very hard decision to make with the majority of the team performing well. A win's a win and always enjoyable against Takapuna, unfortunately the game was marred with the loss of Matty D with a broken hand. |
