Unicef UBC is UNICEF's representative at the University of British Columbia. UNICEF is the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund. It was formed after World War II to provide emergency relief to children in war-torn Europe. Today it is known for its efforts to improve the living conditions of children and adults worldwide.
UNICEF strives to ensure that every child has access to a primary school education, is protected against disease and disability through immunization, and is free from exploitation, abuse, discrimination, and violence.
Unicef UBC works with UNICEF BC to promote UNICEF and its causes through fundraisers, volunteer work, information sessions, and socials. We focus on raising awareness, hands-on experience with kids, and having fun. Whether you have dropped a coin into an orange box, have baked and sold heart-shaped cookies on Valentine's Day, or have read stories and performed skits for young patients at a hospital, as a member, you will be contributing to the community, and you will be supporting UNICEF.
