Jiddu Krishnamurti was born on 12 th May 1895 , in a small town called Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh in South India. He was recognised as the world leader while he was still a young boy and was quickly taken under the wings of the Theosophical Society Dr.Annie Besant, the president of the Theosophical Society believed that he was the World Teacher and took him with her to England, to be groomed for this position. JK had a series of "Experiences" as a young boy, and at the age of 14 wrote his first book called "AT the Feet of The Masters"

He travelled back to India and-during his journey- is credited with having had a mysterious, mystical experience which changed his life forever. In 1929 , he dissolved the Order of the Star of which he was the spiritual head. His reason: Truth is a pathless land and no teacher could ever lead you there.

From then on till his death in 1986, J Krishnamurti, travelled all over the world talking to people about his vision of truth and reality. He was always available for personal consultations, irrespective of the caste and creed of the fellow human being who was seeking his help. His advice to all was essentially the same: Become aware of yourself, your background and your conditioning. And that awareness will liberate you JK rejected all authority as harmful to the growth of the individual. He maintained that the mind has to be free of all its past - its learning, its conditioning, its fears and desires- for it to discover the truth.

He wrote a large number of books. His book entitled "The Book of Life" is a classic. His series "Commentaries on Living" is best known for its simplicity and is the ideal starting point for beginners. His message is being spread by the Krishnamurti foundations across the world
