Becoming a Member
Membership in the UPEHCO
Article 2 of the Articles of Cooperation of the UPEHCO stipulates that
membership in the cooperative is open to any person of legal age, with
the capacity to contract, and more importantly an employee of the University
of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City and Manila, regardless of tenure
(whether permanent, temporary, casual or contractual). A member is considered
in good standing if he satisfies all of the following:
- has paid thee required membership fee of fifty pesos (P50.00) and the
value of at least five shares (at P100.00 each)
- is not delinquent in the payment of his subscription, capital contribution
and accounts;
- has not violated any provision of the by-laws, rules and issuances
of the Cooperative Development Authority, membership and subscription agreements
and other instruments required of him to execute as provided by the by-laws
or as prescribed by the Board of Directors;
- has attended and completed the prescribed cooperative seminars;
- patronizes regularly the business of the cooperative and participates
in its parliamentary affairs; and
- complies will all obligations, duties and undertakings of membership.
