February
FEB 23 Sunday
Dear Yraid,
Exciting! It's my first time
in four years to attend a University/College Scholar Awarding Ceremonies
and it's really exciting! I was wearing a skirt! The moment I stepped on
the 2/f lobby of AS I was already hyper. Wanna know why? Some lady asked
me if I was an awardee and I said yes. She then put a green ribbon (just
an inch of a strip) and asked me -- get this -- asked me for a HUNDRED
pesos, a HUNDRED! So that's the reason why she wrote the name, address, and
phone # I told her on a receipt! Hah! After my enthusiastic face turned
into I'm-close-to-getting-irritated face she told me it was for the
pictures. Moving on. I was with the Labyrinth girls Wena, Rutchel, and
oops I forgot her name, plus our applicant Judith in the Wilfrido Ma.
Guerrero Theater. There were lots of colorful faces there: Sir Sayson, who
introduced the professors who won int'l/local distinctions (Ayi, mainggit
ka, hehe joke), Dean Bautista, who handed us the faux-certificates (she
made beso-beso to all the lady awardees), Sir DeCa, who garnered three
int'l/local awards (ang cute-cute ni Sir di ba Wena?), Ma'am
Lusterio-Rico, who also got an award (I congratulated her before she left
and she congratulated me too), Sir Fernando, who undeniably lost weight
(he sat beside Sir Sayson on the stage), McRhon, who plugged the CSSP
Varsity's upcoming games (of course maintaining his poise like a Ms.
Universe candidate), parents of the US/CS awardees, who were darn proud of
their offsprings (some parents looked as young as their sons/daughters),
and the Philosophy US/CS awardees, who in terms of number dominated the
scene (go philo!!!). Free mini-lunch for everyone! Mommy -- the
60-something lady from the defunct Orangehouse -- graciously served us
food. She's really nice; the one time we talked she told me that she is a
graduate of the College of Home Economics. I brought the food to the
tambayan for the kids. I changed clothes. From 11am to 4pm I waited for
the PASIKLABAN practice that almost got canned. Good thing Lester
(who was also waiting the whole day for Jett to choreograph us), Che,
Aris, and Dino were there to grasp the dance steps Jett taught us. After
all, I bought a pirated cd for the practice (rush kasi at mahal pa-burn,
pero oo, nakapatay na ako nun, masama talaga bumili ng pinirata). I was
feeling bad this day -- not only because of the R&B Loud pirated cd --
but also because of the gloomy weather. A lot of people get sick due to
this fickle weather we have.
FEB 24 Tuesday
Dear Yraid,
Went to class at 10:43; I
dropped by at the tambayan first to return Ayi's dvd and then to leave Che's
portable stereo -- only to find out the PASIKLABAN competition tonight has
been cancelled. Grrr. We were all ngarag yesterday for this?
Anyway. My comic book script got rave reviews *chika* from my kids. After
my Journ 109 class I bought
"hablon" (the more expensive kind of "sablay") for the graduation at the
Quezon Hall. The office was located at the 2/f so I was able to linger at
the University of the Philippines' landmark's balcony. It was drizzling
then. I went back to MassComm to pay Lyn for the Balzac tickets. After
that I went home to change my sweaty shirt and eat halayang-gabi. At 5
Kristyl went over to give me our-common-papa-Luis's Valentine gift (Ferrero Rocher).
A tiny bit later we went to Megamall to watch The Return Of The King. We were
late and the lady behind the counter didn't sell us tickets until we
finally convinced her to (hello? di raw namin mauumpisahan kaya ayaw niya
kaming bentahan. 10min late lang naman tsaka third time ko na 'to at
second time ni Kristyl. better late than never! last rerun na nga e).
Kristyl was surprised to find out that Brian -- whom we were supposed to
meet before the movie started -- and his friend Sir Mark (who was such a
gentleman by the way -- a ladies first sort of person) were just in
front of our seats. Before going home Kristyl and I bought Dairy Queen ice
cream (our favorite); in the MRT station the guard didn't let us in
because we were still eating. Brian helped Kristyl finish her ice cream
and Kristyl helped me in mine. I rushed my last few spoons. We were home
by past 10. I missed Fastlane. I was still up at midnight, making my
special t-shirt for the fundrun on Thursday.
FEB 25 Wednesday
Dear Yraid,
No classes (as if I have one). It's the EDSA Revolution Anniv; it's also Ash
Wednesday, for which I didn't take part. I argued with my mom during
breakfast, walked the dog, checked my email, ate lunch, slept a bit, made
tambay sa labas with Dollar -- mind you I saw a dragonfly, ate dinner,
bought monay -- 3 for P6, took a bath, surfed the Net. That's about it. Is this a
diary entry or what!
FEB 26 Thursday
Dear Yraid,
I wasn't able to attend Buklod-CSSP's proclamation
rally because Ma had to do some grocery shopping. So I bummed around
again, making my webpages. I made major revisions in my site that I hope I
can pull off. I planned to type my thesis sentence outline but I didn't
pursue that plan. At 4 I got ready for the ASTIGGG (AS Tambayans
Itayo! Go! Go! Go!) Fund Run with my custom-made shirt. Hope I have a
digital camera for you to see it. I arrived at the AS Lobby and found my
orgmates there instead of the joggers from the council and the other orgs.
I greeted batchmate Ryan Caparas *ang gwapo niya* who was there perhaps to
support his brod Third Bagro who's running for the CSSP Chairperson
position. Then I, SheAnn, Jett, and our three applicants drove all the way
to the back of the Ilang-Ilang Residence Hall for a snack in Kevin's
Volkswagen (pendong! peace =). Over fries and tacos the buddies of SheAnn
interviewed me for their application requirement, namely the Mem Profile.
Actually most of the questions came from my Pangalawang Supremo (SheAnn)
herself. These were about my dreams, aspirations, and the sexiest part of
my body -- to the last one my answer was: my left hand. I don't really have
a reason for that but I told them it was sexy compared to my right hand
which was obscured by my skin graft. At 5:30 we separated and thanks to
Jely Galang I knew that the Fund Run wasn't postponed that's why I went to
the Acad Oval to jog. But on the way I passed by the Bocobo Hall and when
I approached it the door was closed (the lady at the steps told me to try
the yellow road, este, the College)... I wanted to know the results of the
LAE. Though, walking nearer and nearer the back entrance of Malcolm Hall I
kinda chickened-out. I turned left and was gone to jog. This
lawyer-thingie is making me nuts. At least when I made 1 1/2 rounds in the
Acad Oval I felt lighter (literally and figuratively). A few male
passengers who saw me run blatantly directed their "HIs and HELLOs" to me.
I was on-guard the whole time I was running, ready for a violent encounter
with the male species.
FEB 27 Friday
Dear Yraid,
This is the fifth time I was later than my prof. I
managed to sneak to my seat while she was pointing at her
map. And as always, Jema and I exchanged chikas while Norman reflects on
my fan. Several candidates walked in and shared their zest for the
council, like Norman's brod who was an independent. I had my tuna sandwich
and banana and pineapple juice lunch at the tambayan. Moments later Atom
*kilig nang konti* was at the AS steps together with the STAND-UP candidates
-- I even saw Sir Arao down there wearing all black -- and the
SALIGAN candidates for their proc rally. From our tambayan (top of the
flagpole, 3/f lobby) I shouted at our dear Eco while all of us were waving at
him. We also waved our hands to Alvin (macho na, gwapo pa, bwahaha =) who
flashed his pearly whites and to Bernard (the gentle giant) who was not
looking. Everytime our org was mentioned in their credentials we cheered
and clapped. Then Jubal, Aya, and I rode the Toki to end up at the SC. Aya
made hiwalay from us; Jubal and I canvassed for an affordable 1x1
rush ID pic. We resolved to just go to Philcoa and have my picture taken
at LBC. The camera guy remembered me from my last journey there and he
said "Bago 'yun a" when I told him that I can sit on the floor
because I needed a red background for my pic. At least he didn't say
"Corny". Jubal and I bought McDo oreo mcflurry and caramel sundae,
respectively, before I claimed my instant yet funky looking 1x1s. Next
stop: ATENEO-Rockwell. At the room adjacent to the entrance there was a
really cute picture of a really cute dog with the sign "Lost? Be found
with Christ"-something. We submitted the application forms at the 3/f,
where there was an open market: clothes, shawarma, gulaman, egg tarts,
trinkets, etc. We proceeded to go to the Powerplant Mall so I can buy my
much awaited copy of The Lord of the Rings 3-in-1 at Fully Booked. We were
walking towards the jeepney stop (of course again pondering about the
bourgeoisie life) when my eyes caught the Nestea Beach Volleyball
Eliminations. I persuaded Jubal for us to sit at the bleachers for a while
and then to say "Nestea please" at one of the booths for free iced tea.
Nice try... but the sexy lady there said that the drinks were free only
for the players and if we want we could buy iced tea for only P5 with free
cellphone raffle tickets at another booth. Oh well. Antagal ng jeep MRT
ibabaw, grabe. At last we were on our way home. Unfortunately, some
people made singit in the MRT so we weren't able to catch that
ride. We stood there at the Guadalupe station for about 15min, eating the
Smiley's Vanilla that I brought, while making sure that we were truly near
the yellow line. Unfortunately, siksikan din. We were squeezed in
like sardines. Which triggered my laughing trip. Believe me, I
hardly get laughing trips and it's weird to get it here in a lake of
people I do not know or care about. Anyway, I saw the others smiling too
because of the situation we're in. I can't remember which station it
was but when the doors opened, someone farted. Yep, that's right. Farted.
F-A-R-T-E-D. The loud teenagers some feet away from us were selling each
other (sample: parang isang taon mong inipon 'yan a!). A minute later Ayi
was contacting me and over the phone she cancelled our movie date;
actually Jubal was supposed to be with us but she also called off. Now I
have to go to FC alone to make lako the three tickets, since
I ain't watching. When I arrived at UP I met with the photographer for my
Recognition Day pix. I told Manong we could meet at the AS Lobby but it
was closed due to the CSSP Alumni Homecoming. The total payment for the
pix together with the downpayment was P350. Shucks. Hey, I think the APO
guys are monitoring. Anyway, I then made tambay and the kids there were
Budz Che and Bernie (hi Jam =). I accompanied Che when she went to try on
her black Matilda t-shirt. But get this -- we crossed paths with ATOM and a
tibak girl who was running for USC Councilor and they shook our hands.
"Ang gwapo ni Atom," I told Che. I can't help but be human.
Kainis. The t-shirt looked good on Che and after we went to CASAA.
There we encountered The Twosome Tweetums Jerome and Buddy Roda having
dinner (or merienda, it was 5 o'clock). Jam (the original Jam / MVP Jam;
the other was Bernard the Judo Jam) told me he'd just lend me his scanner
'coz the pix's files for my website were too huge. Later to Buddy Roda I
said that I hardly see her tambay. Che bought arroz caldo and water while
I bought iced tea -- NESTEA iced tea. When we returned Jam was still there.
Che ate, I drank, Jam listened to music through his phone, Atom and the
tibak girl passed by (addressing Che they reiterated the need to vote on
March 2; they didn't notice me and Jam because they came from the west
wing). Che left for class. Jam and I talked about stuff, like our quest
for law school, the program of Ashton Kutcher (PUNK'D), American Idol, the
upcoming USC elections, etc. At quarter to 7 we came down. He stayed with
his partymates at the council office while I aimed for the road to the
Film Center. I saw a small orange dead cat on the way. I forgot about it
easily though because I enjoyed selling the tickets. I bought them from
Lyn Angelica Pano for P40 each but I sold them at P30 like the other girls
there who were just as desperate to sell the tickets (we didn't look
desperate but we simply needed to sell them). I waited for a Philcoa jeep
but I remembered it was Friday -- uwian -- so I settled for a
Pantranco jeep. I met Gabby whom I made an appointment with to train last
Wednesday at the sidewalk. He went to the gym he told me; he didn't
receive my text pala that there was no training that day because of
EDSA because he changed his cell #. So I gave him my #. There. At home I
ate my Honey Bunch cereal. After my bath routine I read the KULE,
especially the part where Atom and his opponent Kris had to answer the
same questions. I concluded that Atom is more fit to be a chairperson.
Then, excitedly, I removed the plastic cover of my LOTR. At long last. My
preciousss.
FEB 28 Saturday
Dear Yraid,
Free day Saturday. No engagements whatsoever. I merely
encoded properties in my PC again. Nothing special. I had a long siesta
(it feels good). Dollar took a bath. While Ma was washing him I ate
pistachios and I gave my second cousins some. The first one I saw in front
of our gate was Tonek, then came Ara who didn't take some, Kyle, and
Carla; Pong was next but he didn't get some too, he just asked me if I
still played Ragnarok. He said it's not nice anymore because Porings had
lesser value (ie, 1). After dinner Ma and I desserted macadamia,
which used to be my favorite. That's it.
FEB 29 Sunday
Dear Yraid,
Today, February 28, I decided to write my destiny - or diary - in advance.
Let's see if it's worth the try. No, honestly my reason is I want to upload my files tonight
(it's 8:18) so I can do other things tomorrow. I think I'm addicted to
making my site. Back to the diary. Dear Yraid, I waited for Jett to text
me what time we will practice for the Pasiklaban. I didn't get any reply
so I just made my instructional article which is due on Tuesday. I also
passed my thesis sentence outline thru email. I slept early because I want
to start my month right. It's March! Huhuhu, I'm gonna graduate soon.
Goodbye UP. =( No!!! I should think positive. I'm not leaving PEYUPS. Never!
