On Wessex Club hills, often windy, you sometimes needed helpers at launch. This is less of a problem with today's hang gliders.

According to Rick Ware, one of the few British pilots who flew a Mosquito, the leading edges bowed upwards from their straight geometry during take off with a disconcerting clunk.

The reason for the forward tilt of the king post is unknown to the author.
