History of Hang Gliding & Paragliding

[ Pilot magazine, March 1976 ]
Photographs taken at the '75 British championships illustrated Mike Jerram's article in the March 1976 edition of Pilot magazine.

Although this was the era of the Wills Wing Swallowtail and the Ultralight Products Dragonfly, the 'entry level' hang glider was still the standard rogallo. The cover photo is of a Wasp 229 C4. Compared to the 229 B3 of a year previously, the C4 featured a greater range of available sailcloth colors, plastic-coated cables, anodized tubing, and purpose-made high-strength plastic components.
