Sapa is a depressed coastal barangay located at the municipality of Miag-ao in the province of Iloilo.
In Brgy Sapa, Miag-ao, Iloilo, there is no preparatory school or day-care center to provide the basic education of young children. As a result, many children in the barangay have difficulties in attaining educational development because of limited finances of their parents.
The Department of Social welfare and Development (DSWD) suggested to the residents that they send their children to day-care centers of neighboring barangays. However, not all parents followed this suggestion. The others thought it a waste of time and money having to bring their children to the next barangay everyday.
The barangay had requested a budget from the government to construct a day-care center, however this will not come until 2004.

UPV Eureka believes that education is a right and not a privilege and the absence of a day-care center at the barangay should not deprive children of having good education.
This organization aims to initiate day care services in the barangay, through a learning program that teaches children basic values and skills. This will provide the underprivileged children of Brgy Sapa with the education they rightfully deserve. When the barangay is able to run its own day-care services, UPV Eureka! will turn over its learning materials to the new day-care center.

Currently, UPV Eureka! has listed 33 children aged 3-6 years old to benefit from the program. Classes will be held every Saturday at the barangay chapel of Brgy. Sapa starting December 6, 2003 until March of 2004. The 15 members of UPV Eureka! will themselves do the teaching and taking care of the children using makeshift facilities available in the barangay.
