Minutes of the METRO Preliminary MeetingDate: Thursday 12 September Time: 1:00pm - 1:45pm Venue: Mechatronics Lab 50-C404 In Attendance: John Clair, Michael Davis, Michael Berghauser, John Upham, Monte MacDiarmid, Matt St. Clair, Matt Murray, Michael Little, Samantha Bothe, Lloyd Lee, Zane Smith, Michael Makras, Sam Leonard, Blake Turner, James McDonald, Nikolas Gojkovic, Matthew Green, David Lee, Robert Stoddart, Charles Meaney. (20) 1. Apologies None 2. Membership It was resolved to have two levels of membership: $2 Standard Membership $5 Gold Membership - for executive members who run the club - essentially second year BE(Mechatronic) students. 3. Affiliation Meeting The affiliation meeting to affiliate METRO with the UQ Union is to be held on Thursday 19 September 2002 at 1pm. The place to be advised in email to the club executive members. The required attendance of 30 will be achieved by having each executive member (the 20 present at the meeting plus additional) bring a friend. The launch in the form of a pizza night and barbecues was postponed until after the affiliation meeting. 4. Advertising A mechatronic logo is needed and possibilities for designers are through John Upham and Matthew Green. A slogan is also needed. Zane Smith has completed a skeleton of the METRO web site. Content is to be emailed to Zane. Email addresses and the laboratory phone number will be the first material uploaded. Matthew Green has been working on artwork. 5. Union Positions The following positions were decided within the club - to be nominated and seconded at the affiliation meeting: President - Charles Meaney Secretary - Adrian Sheppard Treasurer - John Clair Gold class members will all have a position title as members of the executive running the club. 6. Membership Cards Construction of membership cards and the need for membership privileges were discussed. 7. Meeting Closed at 1:45pm |
