A War Bride's Guide to the U.S.A.
Published by 'Good Housekeeping' magaxine in 1945 this guide helped British Women who married U.S. Servicemen serving in Britian during the war. Apparently 100,000 British women made the married leap to the 'New World at teh end of the secpng world war. This book set out to make their journey a little less frought and nerve wracking. Here she would find information on the American way of life, get one with the American people, their sense of humor, manners and more. Information about the difference in money and languages were also part of this booklet. All this information were found in the first part of the book. The second half is taken up with short stories, tales and poems about being a G.I. Bride.
