British War Bride To Live in Trolley

OSWEGO – An English war bride and her husband, a World War II Army veteran, are making preparations to begin housekeeping in a former Syracuse Transit Co. trolley, which they recently purchased and are planning to move to a farm near the village of Mexico.

The couple, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Rio, purchased the trolley from Mrs. Louis Schultzkie of 308 E. Second st., who had the converted passenger vehicles on their former farm in the Ridge rd., two and a half miles west of Minetto.

Containing a living room, kitchen and two bedrooms and being completely wired, the trolley is expected to satisfactorily solve the housing shortage for the Rios for the present.

Mrs. Schultzkie said that there were 18 applicants to an advertisement she ran offering the trolley for sale. She said it was purchased on April 18, 1941, from the Transit Co.
