WAR BRIDES LEAVE

Rome Army Air Field bids a fond adieu to a contingent of 27 English and Scottish war brides when the left the temporary Wac Officers’ Quarters which provided them shelter during the railroad strike and headed from the Rome Depot to join their husbands in the West. The five babies are shown in their mothers’ arms in this picture, snapped a few moments before they boarded the train on the last lap of their month-long journey.
