Mon. 8/16/04: Month 10 post-accutane
I am in no way clear. I've never been anyways. I have always have something on my face, but I have to admit that it's getting worse now. However, I think I know why. It's the summer time, so I hang out a lot more. My skin is still good enough to go out and I still look very good with makeup on, so I go out to the clubs and bars a lot. I drink a bit when I go out and I've been smoking a lot. I also sleep very late. I'm not sure whether this has anything to do with it. My guess is that drinking and lack of sleep probably does and smoking doesn't. If anything, smoking seems to lessen the acne. Coffee, however, makes me break out so badly that I am giving it up for a long while. I'll have tea in place of it and I still allow myself a cup of coffee here and there, but it's definitely out of my diet. I love coffee soo much, too! Damn.
I am still getting my glycolic peel every 3 weeks. I love it soo much. I'll never give it up.
I am breaking out mostly on the side of my face. My cheeks are breaking out a bit too. Yet, I'm not using anything. I just wash my face now. I don't put on anything else. I look at how my face is and how it feels before I put on anything. For a while now, I haven't put on any Klaron or BenzaClin on my face. I don't feel that it's necessary. The acne goes away by themselves and it's never so bad that I can't walk out of the house. As long as I can leave the house (even if I have to put on makeup), I'm happy. I'm not stressing too much about my skin. I still feel pretty.
My hair texture has totally changed now, because I've switched shampoo types. I am using shampoo for dry/damaged hair. Before this, I use for normal and oily. I definitely think accutane has something to do with it. My once super straight hair is now a bit frizzy and needs a straight iron. However, since I started using moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, my hair has felt nicer and healthier. If I have a choice, I'd rather deal with dry hair than an acne-infested face. So, I'm not going to complain about the hair. I'm not losing any hair, except for the normal amount. The hair that fell out during accutane has grown passed the bang stage and is now getting longer. Funny, I actually miss the slight bangs.
