Professional Experience

IBM Corporation, IT Specialist.

Part of IBM’s Business Consulting Services (BCS), which falls under IBM Global Services.  In this capacity I am responsible for technology consultation and deployment for IBM clients.

I have finished deploying BlackBerry Mobile Messaging Solution for one government client, consist of more then 35000 seats of Lotus Notes.  I was responsible for planning, deploying and administering the solution, before handing over to the support team.

Currently, I am involved in deploying a WebSphere environment for the implementation of departmental Portal Solution, based on QuickPlace.

I am part of a team which is implementing Sametime/Webconference technology for the same client in a clustered environment.

 

STG, Inc., Senior Lotus Domino Administrator.

As a Member of Lotus Notes Email Administrator team, I was in charge of day-to-day smooth running of the whole email environment for more then 5000 accounts in a clustered Domino Infrastructure as well as the application. I was responsible for creating and converting the strategy into a deliverable technology solution regarding messaging. The strategy and solution revolved around Lotus Domino technology as a delivery mechanism for messaging and other corporate information.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate, implement and maintain various systems in the corporation. Hold the position and responsibilities of Corporate E-Mail Administrator. Under this capacity, I am responsible for;

Hardware and Software: Infrastructure design, Servers hardware installation / configuration / maintenance, Server software installation / configuration / maintenance, client software / infrastructure planning and maintenance, etc.

System Management: Monitoring overall infrastructure and resources. Reporting and responding to the problems and managing performance of each component in the infrastructure.

E-Mail Management: As a subset of infrastructure planning, I am responsible for effective email strategy, domain management, server management, and designing of routing topology.

Security: Responsible in general, network security and in particular Domino/Notes security.

Backup and Recovery: Designed and developed backup strategy for Domino environment. Decided and implemented backup product. Implemented restore and retention policy for corporate wide Domino data.

Support: Implemented support strategy, defined support roles and communication with different focal points in various departments to ensure the availability of all information resources.

Training: Create training strategy and different methodologies for effective training for corporate users as well as technicians. Also involve with the training department, in development of training material and evaluating the effectiveness of delivered materials.

Qatar Petroleum, Systems Engineer.

As a Corporate Email Administrator I was in charge of smooth running of company wide Lotus Notes environment. Expanded the legacy cc:Mail environment from 1 Post Office for 49 Post Offices. Latter, migrated the cc:Mail to the Lotus Notes 4.x environment, which then was converted to R5.x environment.  Planned, scheduled and execute whole migration process.

Some of the duties included, but not limited to:

  • Supported Lotus Notes version 5x and 4x on an NT platform in a clustered environment.
  • Administration of all Domino servers as well as configuration, testing and troubleshooting of the Notes environment.
  • Maintained and update Notes infrastructure including server builds, hardware upgrades, maintenance and server clustering.
  • Performed and produced statistical analysis of Notes environment for management.
  • Created and maintained Lotus Notes users, groups and databases.
  • Created detail Lotus Notes instructions and documentation for helpdesk and end users.
  • Documented, maintained and present all server configuration and changes to the upper management.
  • Coordinated upgrades/enhancements to the notes environment, templates, etc.
  • Monitored and optimized the routing of external mail through Notes SMTP gateways.

Health Management Strategies. LAN Administrator.

Managed a Novell LAN/WAN for 300 plus users consist of multiple sites. Evaluated, implemented and interconnected microcomputer, telecommunication equipment's, word processing and office teleprocessing products to allow various levels of management of Database Systems, electronic mail, query facilities, spreadsheet and design support systems. Managed multiple 3270 Gateways to IBM mainframe, Modem lines, Routers, LAN Analyzers, Back-up Systems, and Communication links.

Also worked on AS/400 Systems as an administrator. Responsible for set-up local hardware access (InfoWindows, PC Support and Gateways) to the AS/400 application, monitor for system problems and perform any types of recovery needed to resolve the problem, maintain scheduling of nightly jobs using OfficeVision/400 Calendar.

Universal Biotechnologies, Inc., Systems Analyst.

Posted at National Institute of Health (NIH) in National Cancer Institute Laboratories. Responsibilities included file and database management of huge medical research related data. Installed, diagnosed and fixed software/hardware as they occur. Maintained network, mail and other communication services. Assisted scientists in scientific analysis of data generated in laboratories, which involve the use of highly sophisticated software such as, Intelligenitic's Sequence Analysis System, University of Wisconsin Package, and Oxford Molecular Analysis Program. The operation of these systems involved hardware such as Sun 3/260, VAX 11/785, IBM, Macintosh-IIix and Cray-i.

Maintained a Novell Network. Supervise, assist and solve internal and customer's problems relating to hardware, software and communication which employs skills in defining, analyzing and executing an efficient and effective solution to the problem in question.

Maintain operating systems, communication software, database systems/packages, compiler, assemblers, utility programs, etc. Provided support in application programming, hardware/software planning and evaluation, modify existing software, oversee technical education, and insure system efficiency and integrity.

Also actively involve in Inventory control and management, Invoicing and Purchasing for the company for office and clinical products. Solomon, Class Account and other packages were being use to perform the job.

Also oversee the "Clinical Management System" which involves regularly maintaining and updating Clinical Databases. Fixing problems as the occur, upgrading the Clipper based programs, as well as Client Report generation, data integrity assurance, etc.
