Type II Phaser

A very old weapon by todays standards, the type 2 phaser has 16 settings, ranging from light Stun, through to Kill, then Vapourise, then Explosive.

This weapon served the Federation well for over 20 years untill the start of the Borg incursions and dominion war, when something newer and more powerfull was urgently needed by ships of the line.

This Phaser has a range of roughly 400 yards, but only up to 100 yards accurately and with much power

Only 10 of these are kept on the griffon, they are used for training only.
Type III Phaser Rifle

This early phaser rifle still remains in Starfleet's fabrication database, though no new production copies have been produced in six years. The type 3 is simply a rifle version of the type 2 phaser. It uses a nearly identical "business end" as the type 2, and is also capable of firing to setting 16. The advantages over the type 2 are a 50% greater energy reserve, a multiple target acquisition system and a gyrostabilizer system. Recently the standard type 3 phaser rifle has apparently received the same advanced targeting system as the Heavy phaser rifle. Minor retrofits to the deployed units on Ships-Of-The-Line include densified sarium-krellide power cells, upgraded targeting scanners and isolinear processor, and pre-fire chamber similar to that of the Type-2 unit.

The type 3 is now mostly obselete, but is still used by some die hard fanatics, who swear by its power and reliability.

Limited to beam fire only (A phaser beam, as apposer to a pulse) the type III has the unwanted habit of giving away the exact location of the user, and requiring the user to stay exposed untill the beam hits its target.

The Phaser rifle also includes an effective targeting system and decent energy reserve. The Rifle is equipped with a
gyro-stabilized targeting unit. This targeting unit incorporates basic sensors capable of detecting and tracking life forms.

This rifle has a range of about 500 Yards

The Griffon only carries 10 of these weapons, again, they are now only used for training, or by people who like them especially.
Type III Compression rifle

This compression rifle concentrates on simplicity. The LiCu 521 discharge crystal was doped with arsenic atoms and trisilinate molecules in order to restrict the phaser energy discharge. The doping materials diverted a small part of the discharging energy to re-establish the charge barrier between the discharge crystal and the sarium krellide power crystal, limiting or compressing the beam to a maximum of 200 picoseconds of firing. This would fire the entire energy discharge in a beam of only 6 centimetres length, greatly increasing the intensity of the energy and so enhancing the effect on the target. Although it was by far the simpler of the two weapons, great difficulties were encountered during the development of the compression rifle. Most of these centred around thermal damage to the discharge crystal resulting from the very high energy intensities flowing through it. Average firing lifetime of an emitter crystal in the first model developed was only 9.6 nanoseconds - 48 discharges - a far from acceptab le figure. Redesign of the shape of the emitter boosted this figure to 28 nanoseconds, still not sufficient for a field weapon. The solution arrived at was to install two high capacity cooling systems, one mounted on either side of the rifle. This boosted the emitter crystals lifetime to 600 nanoseconds, or 3,000 discharges. Starfleet deemed this just about acceptable and rushed the compression rifle into limited service.
Type IIIc Compression Rifle

The Most commonly used rifle weapon in the federations arsenel, the type IIIc is stored in rotating lockers throughout every ship in the fleet, now fitted with auto-modulation, this is the perfect weapon against borg incursions on starships.

Sometimes referred to as assault rifles, the The Type-3c utilizes plasma acceleration to provide a powerful bolt of energy similar to that fired by pulse phaser cannons on the Defiant-class starship, and at variable power levels. The Type-3c phaser rifle is a much larger, more sophisticated weapon than Type-3b. It uses an advanced computer control system to allow for modulation characteristics to be modified faster than in previous phaser rifles, important when dealing with the Borg. The rifle has a range of 600 meters.

In addition, the rifle can mount several types of sights/lights and tracking equipment, Including a uplink to the sights VIA a tricorder giving distance, speed and infomation about the target, as well as calculating where to shoot to hit them if they are moving.

The Type 3d is being phased out as the main rifle for Starfleet Officers and relegated to a reserve roll, with the introduction of the Type-3e. Many Starships have a small supply of these aboard, usually stored aboard large auxiliary craft, such as Runabouts, and in small weapons lockers.

The Griffons Auxilary craft all carry 4 of these each, and the secondary 'FMS/JAG' Armoury holds 5 of these.
Type IIIe Compression Rifle

Sometimes referred to as assault rifles, the The Type-3e utilize plasma acceleration to provide a powerful bolt of energy similar to that fired by pulse phaser cannons on the Defiant-class starship, and at variable power levels. The Type-3e phaser rifle is a much larger, more sophisticated weapon than Type-III and even the Type-3d. It uses an advanced computer control system to allow for modulation characteristics to be modified faster than in previous phaser rifles, important when dealing with the Borg. The rifle has a range of 750 meters.

First placed in service in 2378, the Type-3e Phaser rifle also includes a much more effective and elaborate targeting system over the Type-3d. The Rifle is equipped with a gyro-stabilized targeting unit. This targeting unit incorporates sensors capable of detecting and tracking life forms and can perform the equivalent of tricorder short range biological scans, with a scanning range of 10,000 yards. Images of the targeted life forms would be displayed on the units display screen.

Housed in Revolving lockers throughout the corridors of the ship, these are now standard issue on most federation starships, including the Griffon.

These are the standard weapon used of Away missions, and to repel boarding parties, and the Griffon carries 50 of these in rotating lockers throughout the ship, and another 200 in the main armoury.
Type IIe Phaser

First issued in 2371, the Type-2e featured an improved Sarium Krellide power cell over the Type-2dA, better protected prefire chamber, and a more ergonomic design. The Type IIe had eight power settings that included the standard Stun, Heat, Kill, Disruption, and Vaporize, with a range of about 85 meters. Power settings were adjusted by the power level button on the top part of the weapon. This phaser also had a separate button that controlled beam width. It was fired by depressing the larger button behind the smaller two. This was Starfleet's main sidearm thought the Dominion War. And is still the main side arm for missions with a small element of danger on the Griffon. 4 Carried in the Auxilary craft, and another 20 in the 'FMS/JAG' Armoury. These are only used for low risk missions now.
Type IIf Phaser

The Type-2f is the latest hand Phaser to come out of The federations R&D Department. This weapon has 18 settings rather than the standard 16 of the Type 2e. The Type-2f, due to the extra power availability, is the sidearm carried for dangerous missions, including the Marines (the marine version looks slightly different, see the marine page for more info). This weapon has an additional Sarium Krellide power cells embedded into the center section, giving the Phaser the ability to reach the extra power settings with a longer power life. As with any sidearm, the main three type of beam are Stun, Heat, and Disruption. The added settings allow for greater precision when using these functions. It has a range of 100 meters.

Thses Weapons are stored, along with the type IIId Compression rifles in revolving lockers throughout the ship (The side panels in corridors), in case of boarding parties.

Starfleet has noticed that often, as soon as the primary security teams are overwhelmed on a starship, the ship quickly flaas to its attackers. So now, starfleet are keeping enough weapons for every person over the age of 18 on a starship, it is belived this will be too much for the attackers to handle. Of course these are self defence only, and only the security teams are expected to attack.

50 of these are stored in rotating lockers about the ship, plus another 200 in the armoury, these are the main weapons used onboard at the moment.
TR-116
The TR-116 rifle is a hand-held rifle-type weapon, a projectile weapon developed by Starfleet Security for use in dampening fields or radiogenic environments, where conventional energy weapons would be useless. The rifle fires a chemically propelled tritanium bullet. A working prototype of the weapon was developed, but Starfleet opted not to produce the weapon after the advent of the regenerative phaser.

In 2375, Science Officer Chu'lak used a TR-116 rifle to murder fellow Starfleet officers Hector Ilario, Greta Vanderweg, and Zim Brott aboard Deep Space 9. Chu'lak modified the rifle with a micro-transporter, which allowed him to beam the bullet into another room, only 8-9 centimeters from its target. An exographic targeting sensor allowed Chu'lak to scan through walls and target victims anywhere on the station from his quarters.

This is considered one of the most dangerous small arms weapons in existance, it could get close enough to kill anyone, with there being allmost nothing that can be done to stop it, a security guard, a captain, the presient of the federation. 2 Command level officers codes are needed to access these weapons.

Only 4 of these are carried on the Griffon, they are held deep inside the armoury, in sealed containers, they require 2 command level officers codes to open, and the CO's approval to deply them.
Type IV

Long-barrelled energy weapon mounted on Federation transport vehicles such as the Jeep carried on Argo-type shuttles. The cannon was stored in a recessed bay at the rear of the vehicle, housed perpendicular to the direction of travel until activated and deployed, whereupon it was operated by a rearward-seated crewmember. Includes a targeting screen for better aiming.

These weapons are also housed in ressesed slots on the uprated Fighters and Danube class ships, for point defence from ground attack.

The Giffon carries an Argo, thus, carries a Type IV, but another 2 are also held in the Armoury as replacemnts, or to suppliment the fire power of a ground assault team.
Personal Communicators
Personal communications device used by Starfleet personnel. Communicators provide voice transmissions from a planetary surface to an orbiting spacecraft or station, and between members of a landing party. Communicators also provide a means for a ship's transporter system to determine the exact coordinates of a crew member for transport back to the ship. Early versions of the communicator were compact handheld units with a flip-up antenna grid. Starfleet briefly used wrist communicators, but more recent units have been incorporated into the Starfleet insignia worn on each crew member's uniform. These combadges have a dermal sensor that can be used to restrict usage to one authorized individual only. Starfleet combadges are programmed to activate automatically when the casing is destroyed, a feature designed to help rescuers locate a seriously injured person. Every member of starflet has a personal communicator, and many civillians have them too.
Medi-Kit

The Medikit is a small, strap-on case designed to carry emergency medical supplies.

A Full Standard kit would include:

1 - Anabolic Protoplaser, 1 - Bandage assortment, 1 - Cardiostimulator, 1 - Dermal Generator, 2 - Hyposprays, 1 - Medical Tricorder, 1 - Neural Stimulator, 1 - Respirator, 1 - Sampling kit, and doses of Medication.

The Medical bay lockers hold 20 medi-kits, and another 100 are kept in storage for emergencies. Medi-kits can be easily replicated, provided with enough power.

All shuttles hold 2 medi-kits at least.

PADD's

n its primary role aboard a starship, the Personal Access Display Device (PADD) is a handheld control and display terminal. Small, easily managed terminals and computers are in daily use throughout Starfleet, as a natural response to crew member' needs to (1) execute hardware functions in a variety of locations, and (2) manipulate visual information and communicate that information to others aboard ship. Access to the Starbase computers and other pieces of equipment can be accomplished through the usual control displays and larger terminal screens, of course, but the PADD has become a convenient adjunct to those panels.

The standard small PADD is 10 x 15 x 1 cm and is constructed from three basic layers of embedded circuit-composite material. All primary electronics, including multilayer display screen, are bonded to the casing, a boronite whisker epoxy. If dropped accidentally, even from a height of 35 m, a PADD will remain undamaged. Replaceable components are limited to three, the sarium power loop, isolinear memory chip, and subspace transceiver assembly (STA).

In normal daily use, the power supply remains installed and is induction recharged. A full charge will last sixteen hours; if a PADD is about to exhaust its battery, it can set a memory flag in the main computer to transfer tasks to a working unit, or suspend them until a later time. The total memory capacity of the isolinear chips is 4.3 kiloquads. Like the tricorder, the PADD can transfer its total memory to the main computers in less than one second if the need arises. The STA issued to maintain data channels between the PADD and the Starbase computers. If taken on an away mission, the PADD can also perform uplink / downlink operations and function as a transporter lock-on node. Data transmissions and computing functions can be shared with any other Starfleet device supporting the STA com protocols. As with the personal communicator, transmissions are encrypted for security purposes.

The display screen, 4.25 times larger than that of a tricorder, allows for the manipulation of control graphics, numerical data, and images by touch. Electrosensitive areas of the casing (colored brown on the standard engineering PADD) are designed for specific data movement and storage functions. They can also be used to personalize the default set-up and single crew member security restriction. An audio pickup sensor permits voice input.

The PADD's control functions mimic those of any multilayer panel, insofar as the security restrictions for individual crew members are concerned. Properly configured with the CONN position bridge controls, a crew member can theoretically fly a starship from a PADD while walking down a corridor. While this would be an impractical exercise due to PADD memory limitations and the relatively small display screen, it is an example of the overall multiple-option philosophy established in the design objectives by Starfleet's Research and Design Bureau.

This philosophy treats the starship as an integrated organism in which each component can be regarded as a cell in a body directed by a central brain, but with processing capabilities distributed throughout the neural network. Because of this, PADDs and many other handheld data devices are capable of accessing any data file or command program to which the user has authorized access.

Custom PADD configurations can be fabricated in any starship or starbase hardware replication facility equipped with custom isolinear circuit programming capabilities.

HypoSpray
The Hypospray is a hand-held device used for subcutaneous and intravenous administration of carefully controlled dosages of medication on a subject. The Hypospray injects the subject by use of a pinpoint, high-pressure, low volume, microscopic, aerosuspension stream. It allows medication to be given through the skin or clothing without mechanical penetration. It takes one second to remove and one to replace a medicine vial. The air cartridge is good for 100 injections. It takes one second to remove and one second to replace the air cartridge. Weight is 1/2 lb.

There are numerous hyposprays kept onboard, and hundreds of doses of medicine as well

This tricorder is a modified TR-580 with an extra external medical probe and scanner attachment. It has the following capabilities:

Biosampler, Bioscanner, Chemscanner, Datalink, Environmental Analysis, Medscanner, Multiscanner, Radscanner, Alloy-detection.
For its size, the Tricorder can maintain and store vast amounts of data in its own memory, which it uses to help evaluate conditions on site.

The Medical Tricorder has an external hand-held sensing device.
This peripheral contains over 100 sensors, and the Tricorder contains a specialized medical database that provides detailed medical diagnostic tools in the field including tomographic and micrographic imaging. A small diagnosis wand fits into the top of the peripheral and is occasionally used by the physician to provide close high resolution scans. Effective range is about three yards.

There are 100 Tricorders in storage on the Griffon, plus the working parts for another 500 (the case can be replicated, the insides can not)

Every Starship carries different peices of equipment, depending on its mission and roles with in the fleet.

The Griffon has all of the folowing peices of equipment, plus many other things, too numerous to count.
