Personal history:

 

Miki was born on the Trill homeworld but as a toddler moved with her parents to Earth where her father worked in Starfleet’s Judge Advocate General’s office and her mother had an intergalactic import/export business.

 

She spent a lot of her life transversing the galaxy with either her mother or her father who both did a lot of business travel.  She was once even kidnapped and held for ransom by the Ferengi during one of the trips with her mother.  (That particular incident prompted her parents to send her to a top of the line self defense instructor). 

 

Because she traveled so often, she was schooled by a personal tutor until she finished high school (at age 15).  Once that she started college, she settled on Earth, getting her law degree at the University of Oxford .  After obtaining  her law degree, she went on to Starfleet Academy so that she could “follow in her father’s footsteps”.  Her first ship assignment is the USS Peacemaker so, although she is well schooled in law, Star Fleet regulations and general space travel, this will be her first time out under the auspices of Star Fleet, so she will have to get used to the routine of serving aboard a starship.

 

Personality:

 

She has a higher than average IQ and is a very quick learner.  In fact, she’s always looking to learn something new.  Miki comes off as being very serious but when she is off duty and with a small group of friends, she will lighten up a little.  On duty, however, she pulls no punches.  She goes by the book and seldom backs off from her original decisions (because she seldom makes rash ones).
