Physical Description:

Shoulder-length, shaggy brown hair with blonde streaks.  Eye color is light blue, shading to gray at times; missing the left eye and wears a (black) eye patch.  Saint is 5'10" tall and weighs about 160 pounds.  He is in good, physical shape.  There is some scarring on his back.  He is not 'handsome' in the conventional sense.   

Personality:

Saint tends to be low-key.  Ten years on a SpecOps team has made him introspective and observant.  While he's honest to a fault, he tends to consider before answering -- and he won't be drawn into an argument, you can't push his buttons.  He's most at home in primitive conditions, likes the challenge of away missions, and is comfortable within his own skin. He gets along well in a group.  In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors ... camping out with his buddies or spending the day at the beach.  He can sleep anywhere, anytime.  He enjoys physical challenges. He's not very communicative first thing in the morning, at least not until he gets his first cup of coffee.  While he understands the need for military professionalism, his approach is somewhat low-key -- and he can be downright insolent to the paper pushers of the world (he has little patience for fools too). If anyone can get to him, its an innocent in need. 

To this date, the only group of people in the universe that he offers unconditional support and respect are the nuns at the Sisters of Mercy Orphanage.  He's been known to spend shore leave helping with repairs or tracking down a lost child -- and has even convinced his buddies to help as well.  Its very hard for him to say no to them.

Military History:

Joined Starfleet Marine Corps at the age of 18 and graduated at the age of 21 from the Spec Ops school. Joined SFMC Recon after graduation.  Assigned to a spec ops team as Scout/Sniper.  Worked in that position for ten years in a variety of assignments, rising to eventual command of the team.  Six months ago, the unit was ordered to extract an ambassador's daughter from what was thought to be a terrorist stronghold.  The team went in, under cover of darkness, using the daughter's subcutaneous location device as a guide.  Intel for the mission was faulty however; the compound was a trap -- the daughter had enlisted in the cause.  Pinned down, under heavy fire, the team fought with exceptional bravery but sustained heavy losses.  Out of an 8 man team, only three survived.  All three were taken prisoner and tortured until they were able to escape.  Of those three, one died of his wounds before the team members could get off world.  Surviving team members are:  Nicholas ('Saint') St. Eyre (who lost one eye while imprisoned) and Benjamin ('Joker') Rivera.  Both have been on medical leave for the past four months.  Rivera was deemed unfit for duty, based on the psychological impact of his imprisonment, and was released from service. 

Personal History:

Nicholas St. Eyre was placed at the Sisters of Mercy Orphanage in San Francisco at the age of six months after his parents death in a shuttle accident.  As a child, he was placed in foster care several times, however none of the placements proved successful.  As a child, while not particularly 'bad' he was nevertheless on the wild side, seldom backing down  from a dare, and more interested in adventures than chores.  After several failed attempts, Nicholas remained at the orphanage until his 18th birthday.
