INTRODUCTION :

We have stepped into an era of survival through competition. In this era, management has become crucial and competitive. To compete and survive in the world of business today, a highly skilled and truly competent team of managers is required for leadership. USTC desires to introduce an academic program designed to produce a new generation of executives and management professionals who are suitable for the time ahead. The program is called "EVENING MBA" which is designed specially for working executives and managers, as well as those on the fast track to executive management.

MISSION STATEMENT :

The Faculty of Business Administration at USTC will be nationally and internationally recognized, respected and referred to as a major center of academic and scholarly achievement by providing a high quality business education to national and international constituents.

OBJECTIVES OF THE EVENING MBA PROGRAM :

This program is to be introduced with the following objectives in mind:

1. To provide a relevant learning experience to full time executives to effectively lead and manage change and growth in to-day's competitive global environment.

2. To prepare a team of corporate leaders who are skilled and competent enough to manage in the new era by providing an opportunity to obtain a masters degree in business administration on a schedule that minimizes disruption of work and personal pursuits.

3. To provide these executives a strong foundation in the concepts, principles, techniques and technologies of modern business management.

4. To provide a new generation of business leaders who are capable of coping with the ever-changing world of business and the challenges of the 21st century. To foster excellence and innovation in Evening MBA programs in a globally competitive environment.

WHO CAN APPLY :

The minimum educational requirement for admission into Evening MBA program is an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning with significant business and preferably professional experience in an executive position. Candidates having masters degree in any discipline and are already in services, MBBS, BSc. Eng., Army, Navy, Air force Major, Captain etc. may also apply with organizational endorsement. The candidates will have to go through admission tests and interviews before they are considered for the final selection for admission into the program.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE :

This program would comprise of 4 semesters on a full time basis. The program consists of 20 courses of 60 credit hours. The courses would be divided into two categories.

CORE COURSES & SPECIALIZATION COURSES :

The core courses comprise of the most important courses of evening MBA that must be studied by every student. And the specialization courses comprise of subjects related to different areas of specialization. The duration of the course is 16 months.

	Degree Requirement:
		
	The Evening MBA degree requirements are:
		
	1. Completion of 20 courses (60 Credit hours including internship)
	2. Passing of the comprehensive examination with a minimum grade of C+
	3. Passing of all courses individually and maintaining a minimum cumulative 
	   grade point average(CGPA) of 2.5
	4. Completion of the internship program with a minimum grade of C.
Faculty:
	The faculty comprises permanent faculty, professional faculty, associate faculty, 
visiting faculty and guest speakers. The cooperative universities at home and abroad are, 
in fact, a big resource base for visiting faculty and arrangements are being made to have 
visiting faculty to reflect the inter-faculty orientation of USTC.


				Grading System
			The grading system is as follows:

		00-49		F		         00


Students having cumulative grade point average (CGPA) below 2.5 should 
not be considered eligible to be awarded an evening MBA degree. However, 
they may be given a chance to improve their grades by repeating some 
of the courses.

Fee Structure:

The financial structure of the evening MBA program at USTC is very competitive 
and is subject to change as per decision of the Authority from time to time. The 
fee structure is as follows:

			Admission fees                 10,000.00
			Semester fees	       1,00,000.00
			Examination fees	       10,000.00

			Total		  TK.1,20,000.00


The fees are to be paid to USTC, after admission into evening MBA program is confirmed, 
as per following schedule:
	

    Admission Time: (Including Admission, Semester & Exam. Fees)	37,500.00

    2nd Semester:   (Including Semester & Exam. Fees)		27,500.00

    3rd Semester:   (Including Semester & Exam. Fees)			27,500.00

    4th Semester:   (Including Semester & Exam. Fees)			27,500.00


All payments are to be made by Demand Draft/Payment Order favoring USTC-Faculty of Business 
Administration. No payment by cash or cheque is acceptable.



	Semester Schedule:

	Semester 01 : August to December
	Semester 02 : January to April
	Semester 03 : May to August
	Semester 04 : September to December



	Class Schedule:

	All classes would be held within the following time schedule:

	Thursday : 5 pm. to 9 pm.  - 04 hours 
	Friday     : 8 am. to 12 am. - 04 hours 
	Saturday : 5 pm. to 9 pm.  - 04 hours

     
	Friday evening is kept for seminars
