BBA
The
business of management is getting complex every day. To
survive in managemant profession needs tremendous amount
of creativity, motivation, skill, patience and farsightedness.
Few education system can provide these essentials for
survival. However, a well designed BBA program can. If
you are looking forward to join the select group of successful
executives the BBA degree can take you there. The BBA
program is a professional undergraduate program for individuals
who plan to build up their career as junior or mid-level
managers. USTC BBA program will provide an opportunity
for the young men and women to develop their intellectual
background and skills so as to enable them to meet the
needs of the business community. To keep pace with the
changing demand at home and abroad constant monitoring
will be done and the program will be updated as and when
necessary. A student who has successfully gone through
the USTC BBA program will be able to take responsibility
independantly and make qualitative decisions.
WHO
CAN APPLY :
Students
passing the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or recognized
equivalent examination of Education Board or University
or has passed six subjects of 'O' level with A, B or
C grades may apply for admission into the program. An
applicant who doesn't meet this requirement but has
passed four subjects of 'A' level with A, B, C, D, or
E grades is also eligible to apply.
CRITERIA
FOR ADMISSION :
All
admission into the BBA program will be on merit basis.
Evaluation of merit will be done through an Admission
Test to be administered by the Faculty. Students who
are interested in pursusing a BBA degree should plan
to take course in English, Mathematics, Economics and
Accounting at Higher Secondary level. Preparation in
computer application is also highly recommended.
Applications
who have taken tests administered by the ETS and received
scores of 500 in TOEFL and at least a combined SAT score
of 800 or ACT composite score of 20 (enhanced ACT),
GMAT score of 400 or above or GRE (general) score of
1200 or above may also be considered for admission.
THE
PROGRAM OF STUDIES :
The
BBA program extends over a period of four years divided
into eight semesters. Each semester shall consist of
16 weeks and forty eight lectures of 60 minutes duration
shall be held for each course. A student can take five
courses in each semester and each course is credited
as 3 units. Thus, a total of forty courses of 120 credit
hours is required for the BBA degree. The courses are
designed keeping in view the standards of higher seats
of learning of international repute at home and abroad.
The forty credit courses will consist of general education
courses, pre-business core courses, business core courses,
specialization and/or elective courses. Besides 40 courses,
BBA students will have to take an Oral Examination with
regard to courses studied so far and the intention of
the Oral Examination is to cover the entire range spanned
by the course work. There shall be a Board of Oral Examination
to be duly constituted by the Faculty in whice at least
one external examiner will be included. The Oral Examination
will be held immedietly after the final semester of
the BBA program.
The
medium of instruction in the BBA program will normally
be English. However, instructors may use the national
language in special cases only.
