Christian Home Educators' Curriculum Manual 1997-98 : Elementary Grades
I actually prefer this book over Mary Pride's guide. Cathy covers curriculum reviews, learning styles, ways to teach, how to teach, planning and record keeping, and resource addresses. I can't tell you how many times I have pulled this book to review information that wasn't related to curriculum reviews!!! If you have a high schooler, then you would want her curriculum guide for Jr. and Sr. High...a must have. |

Christian Home Educators' Curriculum: Junior/Senior High
This is THE book to have for homeschooling older children! Cathy covers curriculum reviews for jr. & sr. high level, learning styles and teens, ways to teach, hot to teach, goal setting, grades & transcripts, record keeping for high school credits, and resource addresses. I have used this book constantly and especailly like the building a worldview part. For those of you who are afraid that you can't continue through into the upper grades, please go get this book. After you have checked it out from the library once, you will know you will need to have your own copy. It is that good of a resource! |

The Home School Manual 7th Edition! This is the latest version of Theodore Wade's Homeschool Manual. The Home School Manual is a complete workshop in homeschooling under one cover. is the ultimate for inspiration, ideas, and the dreaded organization skills that go hand in hand with home schooling. If there was only one book I could recommend "newbies" and "wannabees" to read it would be this book by Theodore E Wade, Jr and others. It is a simplified version of ideas and far less overwhelming than the rest. |

Beyond Survival : A Guide to Abundant-Life Homeschooling I have seen Diana Waring in person at a Homeschool Convention. Let me tell you that she is really a down to earth alive person! Her fmaily and her homeschool sound like a normal family withall the ups and downs. This is an excellent book that will help the new homeschooler as well as the veteran. I found so much value in this one book that I can't begin to tell you. Check it out for yourself! |

Alpha Phonics Finally, this book is available once again! 5 star review by any who have seen or used this book with their child. I highly recommend this book for anyone who is having trouble teaching their child to read. One thing that you must remember is that when I child starts the road to reading, their eyes are not typically used to focusing in on small letters. Alpha Phonics contains a larger print to make it easier to start letter recognition. The way the book progresses is wonderul and is the best phonetic book I have seen. They now even have an entire kit that is available that competes with Hooked On Phonics with all the bells and whistles. Alpha Phonics is a better program and you only really need this one book and a set of flash cards to teach a child to read. |
