My name is Sang-hyun Kim. Kevin Kim
is a "English Version" (My resume is here).
I was born in Omi, Chung-chong-buk-do (Northern Chung-chong Province), Korea. However, I mostly lived and worked in Seoul, Korea's capital city, for 15 years.
In June 16th, 2001, I have landed with my family on Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as an independent immigrant. At present I attend the Master of Forest Conservation (MFC) Program of the Faculty of Forestry, University of Toronto. I am supposed to graduate in May, 2003.
Before
came to Canada, I worked for 'HanKyung.com', one of the most famous Internet
financial portal sites in Korea. It focuses on Stock Market and
e-business.
Previously, I also worked as a staff reporter at ''Weekly Dong-A"(formerly known as 'News+'), a weekly news magazine published by the Dong-A Ilbo. Athough I left the job, I am still writing stories about the Internet, and its related issues, including e-business and cyberculture.
When I
worked at Dong-A Ilbo, I also covered issues on Science and 'Classical
Music' -- I admit that this mix looks weird. Listening to classical music is
my favorite hobby, however. Therefore, they were perfectly harmonious
after all. Also, I love watching videos [Videos (1)
(2)].
I always welcome comments, ideas and suggestions from anyone willing to share them with me. Please contact me by e-mail.
This
is my wife Young-shin Kim, my beloved partner for the
rest of my whole life. I married her on December 14, 1997.
She was my colleague -
Weekly
Dong-A - at that time. After
marriage, she moved to Women's DongA, a monthly
women's magazine published by Dong-A
Ilbo, for 1 year. She was also responsible for editing and
reporting in NetVenture, a monthly internet-trendy magazine
which was discontinued in less than a year! (Oh, my
god...)
She joined Publishing Division of Dong-A Ilbo in September, 1990. She took charge of various areas in several magazines, including Shin-Dong-A (News monthly), Music-Dong-A (classical music magazine ; discontinued), Let's (Teen mag; discontinued), Weekly Dong-A (News weekly; culture, play, publishing, and literature were her domains); Women's Dong-A.
She left Dong-a Ilbo in May, 2000. She grew sick and tired of her hard-working duties as a journalist. Whereas I am relatively quick - tempered, she is very kind, considerate and sensible. I feel happy and fortunate to have met her.
She likes 'opera', especially of Mozart's. Whereas I prefer
instrumental music including symphony, chamber music, she likes vocal music
more.

This
is our ultimate "MASTERPIECE", our kid Dong-Joon, who
was born in Dec. 7, 1998.
We
love him so much. He is the primary source of our happiness, for sure. ^.^
He could not speak Korean nor English,
though. We are very concerning about his considerably slow pace of development.
We truly hope, he could catch up with other normal kids.
He is very very busy these days. Do you know all the kids at his age are always extremely busy and active doing everything? Even to that standard, he is a SUPER ENERGIZER!
He also has numerous nicknames mostly given by us. But, most of all, 'Kng-dol' is our all-time favorite (It is very korean-style, and have no special meaning, but we love the sensitive and humorous feeling of the word).
You can be an observer of his "evolutionary" steps at our gallery.
