As a committee member of Bharat, I plan to play an active role in organising events for university students - particularly to encourage unity amongst the different sub cultures which exist within the indian sub-continent, as well as to promote awareness and acceptance of the multiple cultures present within our society.

As treasurer of one of the largest union societies of UTS I strive to serve the members of Bharat with solid commitment and accountability. In addition, I hope to work with the committee to maintain and build upon Bharat's strong foundation in catering towards the needs and wants of the South Asian youth in this day and age. Cultural Night is an annual event which incorporates the Indian Societies from all the universities. It is an opportunity for students to exhibit their talents and perform in front of an audience. This year we are hoping that many participants will be from Bharat.

I have been somewhat disappointed by the efforts of sports reps in the past. I believe we have the network to organise a few events, that will hopefully become annual. I hope to organise a few sporting such as 6-a-side cricket, 3-0n-3 basketball and various other sports. This will be easier since I am good friends with the sports reps from UNSW, USyd and Mac.
