Welcome to the unofficial St. Joe Riot of '99 Page

I'm sure all of you know by now about the St Joe riot of '99. We got extensive coverage from local and state media for our little escapades. Let me just counter what some of the media had to say. I saw no bottles being thrown. I saw not other objects being thrown. I did see a couple couches go up in flames in the middle of the street. That was stupid. But it was our last day of college. So we went a little nuts. Who wouldn't after spending a cool 80 grand on a college education? Overall I don't think anyone got hurt, except those who resisted arrest and were beaten by the cops, and of course the street. And, as the pictures show, everyone was very nice to the cops (go to the picture of people with their arms and around the cops taking pictures. Notice the broad smile on the cop), until the cops decided to start beating people (this was, of course, after they stood around for about 20 minutes watching the fire and eating doughnuts). So as a word to the wise, don't believe everything you read in the paper. The paper, as you can see, included no counterpoint from any student involved. The cops were able to tell their side of the story, so now I'm telling mine. Unfortunately, it will only be seen by a handful of people. Oh well. I had fun. On to the photos....

Here's what the Times had to say. Of course, much like the Times, they were two days late

And here are some assorted pics...enjoy....any comments, sign the guestbook and respond....
