Sangita's Dance Performances

Sangita performed her Arangetram in Feb 1985 at the tender age of 10. Her journey of giving quality programs began hence and she has enthralled her audience at many dance festivals and platforms. Some of her significant solo performances are as follows:

• Sankarabharanam Sabha, Chennai – 1990
• Bharat Kalachar, Chennai – 1990
• Every Friday Cultural Evening Program, Bangalore – 1992
• World Culture, Bangalore – 1992
• Toured Germany and performed at major cities – 1993
• International Trade Festival, Stuttgart, Germany – 1993
• Rangasurabhi Arts festival, Bangalore – 1993 (Won the best dancer award for the year)
• District Fund Raiser for Rotaract Club, Bangalore – 1993
• Footloose – Cultural Bonanza by Rotaract Dist, Bangalore – 1994
• Mallige Kannada Sangha, Dallas TX - 1997
• Dances of India, Dallas TX – 1997
• Indian Association of N.Texas, Dallas – 1998
• Sanskruti School’s 1st anniversary program – 2002
• Dance Demonstration by Smt. Savithri Jagannath Rao - 2002

Sangita has also participated in many group productions and has worked with many significant dancers and dance teachers. Some of these include the following:

• Dashavataram – through the Pradhan Centre under Guru Smt.Padmini Ravi. (1991 – 1994)
• Sarvam Shivam – through Pradhan Centre (1991 – 1994)
• Krishna Bhakthi Mala – through Pradhan Centre (1991 – 1994)
• Dance Ballet on Jain gods performed at all the Jain kshetras in Karnataka (1991 – 1994)
• Dance production on the Navarasas – Pradhan Center (1991 – 1994)
• Toured S.India with a multi media production on the 8 forms of Bhakthi based on stories of Krishna. This production was as part of the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra. (1995 – 1996)
• Nowka Charitram – Saint Thyagaraja’s composition of a set of songs describing Krishna’s maya on the Gopikas of Gokulam. This was performed under the auspices of Smt. Radhika Ganesh of Expressions Dance Academy. This was performed at various places in North Texas. (1997 – 1999)
• Virangana – Ballet on the brave & virtuous women of India under the auspices of Smt.Revathy Satyu, Indian Cultural Heritage Foundation (ICHF). This was performed at multiple cities in N.Texas. (1998)
• Naalaam Naalaam Thiru Naalaam – A colorful dance productions showing the different festivals of Tamilnadu by Expressions Dance Academy. (Dallas, 2000)
• Navarasa Sansar – A dance production on the life of a couple depicting their stages of life through the 9 emotions. This was performed under the auspices of Revathy Satyu & ICHF. (Dallas, 2001)
• Hoovi – the Flowering Tree – Played the lead in this play written by Sri A.K.Ramanujam and directed by Smt B.Jayashree of Spandhana, Bangalore. (Dallas, 2002)
• Dashavatara by Smt.Madhu Nath of Vaishnavi Dance Academy, Midland, TX. (2004 - 2005)
• Sringara – Production by Smt.Madhu Nath of Vaishnavi Dance Academy, Midland, TX. (2005)

Sangita believes that Art is an ocean of knowledge and we can learn in abundance by seeking various opportunities. True to this belief, she has attended workshops and classes conducted by many noteworthy dance artists.
