Pareng Val,

Peace and every blessing!

We had a grand time with Fenchie last night, July 29.  I hosted a dinner
for her at the Pantalan ng Maynila, a restaurant ala "Fisherman's Wharf" at
the Manila Bay, Rizal Park (Luneta).   There were the faces we longed and
loved to see:  Myrna Canlas,  Leila Plopino, Tess Samson, Ruby Atanacio,
Arnela Villalon, Jessie Guevara . . . plus the party veterans, namely,
Perlie Gonzales, Helen Roque Pandy, Olive Griarte Seña, Evelyn Alcaraz
Muallil, Edna Adriano Gilera, Dr. Ching Cabildo Albornoz, Edmon Liao, Rey
Medenilla and myself.

The E1 girls were especially ecstatic to see Fenchie.  Hindi pa nga
kumakain para na silang mga lasing.  Puro luka-luka.  Sabi nga ni Fenchie,
nakakatuwa kasi nang magkita-kita daw uli kami, puro na kami hindi mga
virgin.

Ruby carefully chose the menu:  Lechon de leche, pakbet, sinigang na tiyan
ng bangus, tuna panga inihaw, halabos na hipon suwahe and some appetizers
like nilasing na hipon, crispy kangkong and gambas.   While the boys
ordered iced tea, the girls chose San Miguel Beer Light.

Pantalan was an ideal place for a special reunion like ours.  The view of
Manila Bay was fantastic and sea breeze relaxing.  After dinner,  the group
decided to spend the some time promenading at the Luneta Board Walk where
Edna's hotdog stall is located.  It was coffee and pictorial time.   What
lasted until a little past 11:00 in the evening proved to be ain't enough
for Fenchie.  While we went home tired but happy, she decided to spend the
night with some of her classmates at Helen's place in Cainta, Rizal.

Before I went to sleep at about 2:00 in the mosning, I imagined hearing the
laughters from Helen's home where the girls, for sure, did not get any
sleep and chose to reminisce and exchange notes.  I smiled at the thought
that Fenchie had a memorable homecoming after fifteen years.

- Thanks, Fr. Erick for the write-up and pictures -

I just received more pictures from Perlie today (July 31st).
