HTHL 1999 Spring
-- 06/05/1999 -- 2pm: HTHL Playoff Game --
Hockey WorkOut posted the upcoming playoff schedule
for the HTHL Spring 1999 Women's Division. The schedule is
as follows.
Sat, Jun 5 - 2pm: Game A Playoff - #3 Seed at #2 Seed
Sat, Jun 5 - 3pm: Championship - Game A Winner at #1 Seed
Team B pulled away quickly from third seeded Team A by
scoring four goals in the first period with a hat trick collected
by the talented Jenny Boswell.
The 4-1 halftime lead of three goals held up as Jenny scored the
game winning goal for Team B to propel them into the Championship
game with the Rebels. The final score of 7-4 did not indicate the
close play between the two teams.
-- 06/05/1999 -- 3pm: HTHL Championship Game --
The Championship game had the number one seeded Rebels quickly
falling behind 2-0 to Team B and their physical play. By
the time the Rebels scored their first goal by Lina, Team
B had already received three penalty calls. With both teams
settling down to play hockey, Traci tied the score at 2-2.
Team B scored before the end of the period to take a 3-2 halftime
lead.
After the break, Team B's Jenny scored her third goal of
the game (and second hat trick of the day) to extend the lead 4-2.
Former Rebels' player, Vikki Foley, nailed the final goal
of the period for Team B to have a 5-2 end of regulation score.
However, the Rebels could not be counted out yet as there were
three penalty shots to be taken to force a tie and a possible
shoot-out to determine the winner. Kristine, Carol
Swink and Carole Seymour each attempted to bring
the 1999 Spring HTHL Division winners into a final tie but
the Team B netminder held on to preserve the victory and foiled
the Rebels' attempt as being the first back-to-back HTHL season
champions.
