What is Key Club? by Erin ScottI have been racking my brain for a worthy answer. I blurt out, "It's a community service club," but it is much more. I am asked this question every time I wear my fox. People see me walking around every Thursday toting a stuffed fox around my neck. Behind the fox is my name tag from Key Club convention. Kids in the hall cock their head, baffled as to why I insist on wearing a silly toy around my neck. I say its for Key Club. I started wearing my fox after I went to our Cali-Nev-Ha Convention in Long Beach 2001. My former VP, Sarah Nasser, and I helped set up a fundraising workshop. As a reward we were given two foxes because we were the "Valhalla Foxes." Our mascot is not a fox for our school, nor for our division or district, but was a joke from one of our kind Kiwanis. I found by wearing this unusual item, I not only get to proclaim foxiness, but get the chance to promote Key Club with every question.Key Club is: Satisfaction Gratitude Service Patience Happiness Caring Enthusiasm Helpful Friendly Appreciation Conscious Sincere Empathetic Devoted Loquacious Zealous Distinguished Worthy Above and Beyond Time After Time Come see for yourself and get involved with your community. It is a chance to meet caring new people dedicated to helping others while being able to give that spark that lights the flame inside yourself. Do your part your community and Key Club is counting on you! Erin Scott is currently the president and euthusiast of key club she wants to remind you key club does not make keys, except for the key to the community throught kindness and community service.
