H. R. Giger is one of the world’s foremost artists of Fantastic Realism. Born in 1940 in Chur, Switzerland, he studied architecture and industrial design at the Zurich School of Applied Arts. His first artworks in the early 60’s, mainly ink drawings and oils, lead to his first solo exhibition in 1966, followed by the world-wide distribution of his first poster edition. Switching to the airbrush in the early 70’s, Giger created his own unique signature, freehand style. His most well known works of this period, the biomechanical dreamscape paintings such as “The Spell” and the “Passage Temple” series, are the cornerstone of his fame. To this date, 20 books have been published about his artwork.

H.R. Giger's most reknowned works are those of the art design of the world famous Alien movies and the sci-fi classic Dune. H.R. Giger's extensive field of artwork not only spans through just sculptures and paintings, but also that of furniture and accessories. Some of the recent well-known oddities created by Giger were some microphone stands created for Johnathan Davis of Korn
