Edward Scissorhands is a modern day fairy tale which tells the story of Edward: the man created by an inventor who died before finishing him and left him with scissors where he should have hands. One day when the local "Avon" representative calls at the historic mansion where Edward has been living alone, she takes him home to stay with her family. He has to adapt to the new life and environment that he isn't used to. Soon he shows a talent in cutting hair and hedges, and wins everybody's heart especially the Avon representative's daughter. But life isn't always so sweet. Innocence is what he knows. Beauty is what she sees.
Edward Scissorhands is a touching cult classic, and in my eyes is probably one of the greatest drama films ever made. Directed, produced, and written by Tim Burton (quite possibly the greatest cinema mastermind who ever lived), Edward Scissorhands is not only a dark and romantic fairy tale, but also a truly classic peice of art. Edward can represent
Tim Burton has directed, produced, and written most of his movies into being creepy, dark, romantic, however completely original. His remakes of older tales bring forth a new vision of old things past. And his own creations bring forth new fantasy lands and dreams never before thought imaginable. Tim Burton is quite possibly the most Romantic film Director, to grace Hollywood with his presence, since Vincent Price himself.
