2009 ALL THE PROCEEDS OF "The Best of VAN WILLIAMS c.d. ARE DONATED TO THE "AFRICAN POVERTY APPEAL"
Van Williams sponsors a child in Africa. Her name is Gano Tening. She lives in the Velingara region of Senegal, one of the poorest areas of Africa. Van would like to thank everybody who has bought the Best of c.d. helping to donate money to her village. She is 9 years old and lives in a typical African village and with our help, World Vision are able to supply clean drinking water, seeds to harvest, and animals such as goats which are all essential to the survival of the village. She is now attending school, so she will herself one day be able to help change and improve life in her community, and help turn things around.

GOOD LUCK and FAREWELL to soul singing legend "BOBBY GEROME"
Above Van and Bobby
Van and many others give a warm and emotional send off to soul singing legend, "BOBBY GEROME" formerly of the DRIFTERS and many other top soul bands + an outstanding solo carreer. Bobby and his wife Carole, with two sons Troy and Ely are returning to Los Angeles U.S.A. after living here in the North East of England for 25 years. Bobby kindly recorded backing vocals for Van on many of his songs, and was always a source of inspiration and professionalism at the highest level. Thanks to "OLIVER" for putting the whole occassion on at his new Venue in Birtley "OLIVERS", Europe.
VAN-TASTICO!!!
Van thrilled the audiences of Benidorm with max' Soul-Rock, and will be returning there this summer time. "Hope to catch some more of you sun worshipers out there", ADIOS.
VAN IS BACK ON THE INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT
Van Williams is performing in Spain May 3rd to May 7th. If you are in the Spanish resort, "Benidorm" be sure to check out the music.
Van says "I'm really looking forward to playing out in Spain again after an 15 year absence, and if some of you bro's are out there too, make sure you come and see me"
VAN BACK ON B.B.C. RADIO
Over 300,000 listeners tuned into The Sue Sweeney show B.B.C.radio Newcastle and heard the live interview with Van @ 7.30 Tuesday 17th February. They talked about Van's past experiences in the entertainment world and where Van is hoping to go from here. They also talked about his new company club-idol which will help young talent into the business, plus his new CD "The Best Of Van Williams" and played two tracks: Mr Pitiful and Desperado.
"Great publicity and all for free" said Van.
