This January I started my new co-op job at Superior Controls in
Plymouth, MI. Of course that means I recently had to move to
Michigan. Can't say there's much good about that aspect of it, but the job
is going very well. I think I've learned more this term than all my
other work terms combined. I think this calls for a bulleted list,
and I don't really care if Gerwin approves or not. :)
- It is important to thoroughly test anything you send out the door.
The fact is there is something wrong with it. You have to find
what that is before the customer does.
- For every project you need two things: A deadline so everyone knows
when it will be done, and a job number so you can get paid for doing it.
- If the pin isn't coming out, it's probably not supposed to. So
don't put your other hand in there and pull harder. It will hurt
you, and your finger will look quite nasty for a good long time.
- I learned to write Ladder Logic for PLCs, create PanelView screens,
and make the two communicate with each other and work together.
- Invoices are a lot of tedious work, but if you don't have invoices,
you haven't sold anything, and apparently you need to sell stuff in
order to make money. Not sure what this is all about, just going
off what Patty told me. :)
Thanks again to everyone at Superior Controls for a
great work term! |
