After
the "Cyndi" problem was resolved last
week, I've now got back into my regular stitching routine.
Piwi's present was finished and sent off
to her last week (it's her birthday today actually - I hope it arrived
in time), but very unlike me I forgot to take a picture of it before I
sent it off - DOH!!! Hopefully Piwi will obligue with a picture of the
finished otter when she receives it - which I can put up here.
Which she kindly did - see right.
My
latest finish is the Newton's Law Cover Kit - finished today! - which
came with Quick and Easy Magazine earlier this year or the latter part
of last year - I can't remember now. Anyway, as is coming to be the norm
with these freebie cover kits, I ran out of thread again, this time the
light blue background colour. The kit was supposed to be using anchor
threads but the chart very unhelpfully didn't actually give the colour
number so I had to cobble a match together from my DMC supplies with the
help of the good folks at UKXSF.
My
next little purse project is the Snow White Cover Kit from the current
issue of Quick and Easy. I am also presently stitching Cultured Cat for
the Cattitudes RR, here is his current WIP in the picture on the right.

I've
been secretly working on an Otter for Piwi's birthday at the end of the
month. He's now complete but I need to get him framed. I really need to
start the next Cattitude as "Cultured" Cat is now ready and
waiting to stitch. I probably won't be uploading these pages for a week
or two, until Piwi has safely received her present, as I want it to be
a surprise and don't know how often she checks here! lol

I
completed the last of the gold knot border on Tempest in a Teacup last
night. Presently I'll be packing him up and ready to send back to Piwi.
I really enjoyed sewing him, so much so that I think I'd like to do him
again for myself. I've got a piece of minty green evenweave (the same
as this background, infact), and I think it would set him off nicely.

I'm
now back properly from Holiday and can begin regular stitching again.
You know I seem to get more done at home than I did when I was away!
Here's the progress I made on Paradise
Island, and here's the letter
of complaint I made to Britannia about them stealing my sewing needles
and losing my luggage. It took two further letters to them before I finally got them to admit that the airport's security personnel had taken the needles because they thought they could be used to stab someone in the eye. Yeah! right! like that's going to happen with a 2" blunt needle...... cigarette lighters are certainly more dangerous, but do you hear of any airlines confiscating them. Of course not. The tobacco industry wouldn't hear of it. It makes you wonder who really controls this crazy world we live in, doesn't it?
