October 03 X-Stitch Diary

I've been working steadily on Comical Cat and have completed stitching the actual cat himself and am currently working on the background. Here's my progress on him this week:

I've also been stitching my "purse project" during the break at work and have now finally completed that Dumbo Kit which I started back in August. I finished him on Thursday, and have been hunting around indoors for the mount which came with the kit (from Cross Stitch Crazy Magazine), but haven't located it yet. I'm sure it will turn up somewhere.

Dumbo Cover Kit Robin Christmas Card

Since finishing Dumbo, I've started stitching up some Christmas Cards, I got a bunch of six Christmas Kits from Mouseloft early this week and have nearly finished the first one already of a Robin.

In addition to all the stitching I've done this week, I've also been entertained by my two new Rabbits, Roger and Jessica.

They were seven weeks old on monday. Jessica is the one standing up and is very inquisitive.

Paradise Island One Year onI managed to get to the "half-way" point in Paradise Island before commencing stitching on Comical Cat for the RR. I actually feel a sense of achievement to be at the halfway mark, but it has taken me a full year to get this far, as I have stitched many other things in between, including three round robins, numerous Christmas cards and some projects of my own.

Comical Cat after two daysComical Cat arrived last week, and I did some stitching on him this past weekend. He seems to be stitching up very quickly, I did this much in two days. He seems to be a little smaller than the other cats, but the design encompasses the branch too. Overall the design is bigger than Cultured Cat, so the curse of the incredible shrinking cats seems to be broken.

Here's a shot of how the Cattitdues are starting to shape up on Piwi's Material:

Mount Fuji FramedI've now framed and mounted the Mount Fuji design.

I bought some blue mount board from Hobby Craft and my cousin cut it out for me, as I was not very confident about getting the curve right myself he also cut out some mounts for my aunt and my mother.

As there are going to be more of these horseshoe-shaped designs in future editions of Cross Stitch Collection, and I have plenty of mount board left over, I bought a duplicate frame so that the next one I stitch will match too.

Paradise Island 1 Years WIPI've also been doing some serious work on Paradise Island. When I have filled in the water in the section that I am working on at the moment it will be halfway completed. Not bad considering that I started this project in October 2002.

On the Cattitudes front, I'm waiting for the next piece of fabric to arrive so that I can stitch Comical cat on it. The Yahoo Group Feline Stitching Fun is doing a Cattitudes Stitch-a-long at the moment as well so when I start doing Comical cat I'll start uploading my WIPs onto there as well as these pages.
