Soundtrack for Sandra

Preamble from tpo Sandra:
"I just got bored and decided to put up the playlist I listen to every night RPing with you guys. I thought it only fair to post the songs that are inspiring me to blackmail, annoy, and outright creep you guys out. I know two-thirds of this stuff is obscure or outright unknown, but if you don't know what something is... I encourage you to find it on Napster or Gnutella or whatever."

[webslave's note: I think I caught all of the typos ^_^]

Allen Ginsburg, Ballad of the Skeletons - Music from Sandra's revolutionary poet contemporary.
Ancient, Malkavian Twilight - From a video game I think... no clue...
Aphex Twin, Entrance to Exit - Ambient and alien.
Aphex Twin, Nannou - Girly and demented.
Aphex Twin, Wet Tip Hen Ax - Sounds of dripping blood, enough said.
The Beatles, I am the Walrus - Perhaps the most stream of consciousness song of all time.
The Beatles, Strawberry Fields Forever - Hopeful in that "Lets go to Oblivion" sort of way.
The Beatles, Tomorrow Never Knows - Just creepy.
The Beatles, Across the Universe - The one song I like off of Let it Be, also the only one produced by George Martin.
The Beatles, Cry Baby Cry - The subtlest use of decadence in a song. La Fleur Du Mal all over again.
Bjork, Bachelorette - The string part alone makes this one worth it. Pronounced "Byerk."
Boards of Canada, Sixtyniner - Sexual in title, but it sounds like a music from a projector film about hygiene.
Bob Dylan, Ballad of a Thin Man - Demented imagery makes this one very Malkavian.
Bob Dylan, Desolation Row - Also demented, but the pop culture references are also swanky.
Bob Dylan, Like a Rolling Stone - Sandra was a huge fan of Dylan's and regretted not meeting him in life.
Bob Dylan, The Times Are A'changin' - Revolutionary.
The Breeders, Happiness is a Warm Gun (cover) - Not as good as the original, but punk.
The Cardigans, Iron Man (cover) - Nothing says Sandra like a sweet girl's voice singing about atrocity.
Carfax Abbey - This is the Malkavian song from the Succubus Club album. Its so-so, but I feel obligated.
Cibo Matto, Black Hole Sun (cover) - A Japanese girl sings in French about the end of the world. Tearjerker.
Clara Rockmore, The Swan - The late theramin prodigy plays very moving song by Sansen.
The Cranberries, Linger - Blood bond anyone?
The Cranberries, I Just Shot John Lennon - Sandra died five days before John Lennon.
David Bowie, Changes - What does Sandra seek if not change?
David Bowie, Heroes - Optimism in the face of total loss.
David Bowie, I'm Deranged - THE Malkavian song. I shall say no more.
David Bowie, Life On Mars - She loves fighting in the dance hall too.
David Bowie, Man Who Sold the World - Just a damn cool song.
David Bowie, Rebel Rebel - THE bisexual ballad.
David Bowie, Ziggy Stardust - Read what Ren posted about Sandra for this one.
DJ Bell, Popcorn - A cheesy song with sweet words and sweet vocals.
DJ Shadow, Midnight in a Perfect World - Bittersweet song appropriate the Sandra's theme and mood.
The Eurythmics, Sweet Dreams - Much better than that cover done by... what's his name again?
Fluke, Atom Bomb - Dance music about a manipulative girl who conquers by association. Sound like anyone?
Frank Black, [wn: no song listed, silly!] - I love Frank Black, and this is about a city that Sandra used to live in, so nah!
Garbage, Push It - This is the noise that keeps me awake, my head explodes and my body aches.
Garbage, I'm Only Happy When it Rains - Pessimism and food for the beast.
Garbage, Special - Disillusionment and anger at being lied to. What vampire hasn't felt this?
Garbage, When I Grow Up - Neonate them song, verging on the anarch.
Godspeed You Black Emperor, Sleep - Instrumental, but note the narrators... a senile man and a cultist...
Godspeed You Black Emperor, Kicking Horse on Brokenhill - Just plain beautiful.
Godspeed You Black Emperor, Moya - Dynamics make this a masterpiece.
Hole, Doll Parts - Well Sandra thinks of Ashtasia as a doll...
Hole, Pennyroyal Tea (cover) - I like it but I doubt anyone one else will.
Hole, Violet - Whoring oneself for blood isn't much different from whoring for money.
Hole, Miss World - Does this really need an explanation?
Iggy Pop, Lust for Life - Iggy Pop is Sandra's contemporary, and its very much about embracing humanity.
John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band, Give Peace a Chance - All we are saying is "give peace a chance."
John Lennon, Imagine - More than any other song, this represents Sandra. Its also her favorite song.
John Lennon, Instant Karma - So many lines apply to Sandra...
KMFDM, She Moves In Mysterious Ways (cover) - Not much different from the original, and she does.
KMFDM, Anarchy Remix - I just thought its violent tone and unpretentious angst was appropriate. The beast.
Kronos Quartet, Purple Haze (cover) - Counterculture meets High Culture.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Sad - From a Hindi musical.
L7, Shitlist - I can think of several people who have made Sandra's shit list.
Lata Mangeshkar, Jab Hum Jawan Honge - Sandra speaks Hindi, and this song is pretty.
Led Zepplin, Stairway to Heaven - All apologies for including this one, but I can't seem to get rid of it.
Lou Reed, Perfect Day - You made me forget myself, I thought I was some else, someone good.
Manau, La Venir Est un Long Passe - French rap. Its about how France is controlled by fascists.
Marilyn Manson and Rasputina, Apple of Sodom (live) - Heretical, and kinda cheesy. Like Sandra.
Marilyn Manson, Coma Black - Apologies.
Marilyn Manson, Coma White - I love this song. Its great. Its beautiful. But Manson sucks. Once again, apologies.
Marilyn Manson, In the Shadow of the Valley of Death - Contemplation of death that isn't cheesy.
Massive Attack, Black Milk - Very very groovy. Black milk... Deadly and motherly. Feeding symbolism.
Massive Attack, Dissolved Girl - In a body without a heart, in a soul without a mind, I'm missing everything.
Massive Attack, Unfinished Sympathy - How can you have a day without a night?
Meat Beat Manifesto, Everything Counts - The meaning of this song is lost on me, but I like it.
Meat Beat Manifesto, Love Mad - Sandra has been love mad on several occasions... with several people.
Medicine, Time Baby III - Sooooo pretty. Does anyone know of anything else they have written?
The Melvins, At the Stake - More Master of Scissors than Sandra, but she can be spooky/crazy too.
Moby, Porcelain - Its just a good song, although I know very few people who share that opinion of Moby.
Nine Inch Nails, The Perfect Drug - I have to admit this song is very appropriate for any vampire.
Nine Inch Nails, That's What I Get - Wrong gender, but if you consider it one of Sandra's groupies it makes sense.
No Doubt, Just a Girl - Life as a beautiful neonate. *sigh*
No Doubt, Simple Kind of Life - An intrusting addition I think, as Sandra wants a "partner," but fails.
Orgy, Fiction - Sandra is after all, guilty by design. And she does indeed dream in digital.
Ghost in the Shell Soundtrack, Ghost City - Mystical, with a touch of decadence.
The Pixies, Is She Weird - Weird? Yes. White? Yes. Promised to the night? Yes.
The Pixies, Velouria - Kinda surfer music-ish, but note the theramin in the background. My fav Pixies song.
Pizzicato 5, September Song - Japanese pop music at its finest. Sandra loves Pizzicato 5.
PJ Harvey, A Place Called Home - I can't explain why this fits. It does. Leave me alone.
PJ Harvey, Big Exit - Girly paranoia about the way the world is slowly going mad. I want a pistol, I want a gun.
PJ Harvey, Whore's Hustle - Street life. Theme song for the Rack.
PJ Harvey and Thom Yorke, This Mess We're In - Sunset over the city. No further explanation needed.
Portishead, Mysterions - Every song ever written by Portishead should be on this list. hmmmmm...
Primus and Tom Waits, The Coattails of a Dead Man - This anti-Courtney Love song counteracts Hole.
Procol Harem, A Whiter Shade of Pale - Another song about the bliss of oblivion, but with dream images.
Radiohead, Karma Police - I've given all I can. This song is a counterpoint to Instant Karma.
Radiohead, Airbag - Creepy and alien. Very Malkavian in the sense that its serene but foreign.
Radiohead, Creep - I think any Malkavian feels this way sometimes.
Radiohead, Creep (acoustic) - Quieter, which makes it all the more bitter.
Radiohead, Paranoid Android - Obvious fall from grace imagery, again with the alien post-rock sound.
Radiohead, Street Spirit - Fade out.
Radiohead, Street Spirit (Paul Oakenfold Remix) - You can dance to this version.
Radiohead, Everything In its Right Place - Even more alien. Bleak and formless.
Radiohead, How to Disappear Completely - Obfuscate anyone?
Radiohead, Idioteque - Sounds like Gehenna come early. Women and children first... I wonder if he means saved first, or killed first? hmmmm...
Radiohead, Idioteque (Saturday Night Live) - So good I included it twice. Wanna make something of it?!
Radiohead, Morning Bell - This one is hopeless and stark with a dash of deranged. Add fear to taste.
Rasputina, Transylvanian Concubine - I really don't think I have to explain this one.
REM, Losing My Religion - Not only does Sandra love REM, but the song is very appropriate.
Rolling Stones, Paint it Black - Another song that should be on any vampire playlist.
Sarah McLachlan, Dear God (cover) - [wn: this is how you spell it ^_^] ...this among the bitterest songs in existence.
Schneider TM, The Light 3000 - Modern remix of the Smith's "There's Light that Never Goes Out." Better than the original.
Serge Gainsbourogh, Sea Sex and Sun - French pop. Its dreamy. Two out of the 3 are forbidden to Sandra.
Smashing Pumpkins, Bullet With Butterfly Wings - The world is indeed a vampire sent to drain.
Sonic Youth, Bull in the Heather - Sexual without sex. Very much Sandra.
Sonic Youth, Little Trouble Girl - With all the @#%$ Walcott used to give her, she is a little trouble girl.
Sonic Youth, Superstar (cover) - A great role reversal. The Carpenter's version was sung by a woman.
Stone Temple Pilots - I'm not a big fan of these guys, but this song has that end of the road feel.
They Might Be Giants, Don't Let's Start - D, world destruction, O, over an overture, N, do I need, T, this torture?
Tori Amos, Precious Things - Violently feminist, and a little bitter at being considered a "precious thing."
Tori Amos, Imagine (cover) - Again, Sandra's fav song, but sung by a woman.
Tori Amos, Caught a Lite Sneeze - Dreamed a little dream, made my own pretty hate machine.
Tori Amos, Smells Like Teen Spirit (cover) - Nothing on the original but more appropriate for Sandra.
Tori Amos, Losing My Religion (cover) - Again, Sandra's angst.
The Tornadoes, Telstar - The first Techno song of all time, circa 1959. Sandra was 5 when it came out.
Vampire the Redemption, Malkavian Insight - From the video game. Swanky in a psychological way.
Vanessa Mae, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Saturn Theme - Its beautiful in that anime lesbian way.
The Velvet Underground, Femme Fatale - More Sandra than Bowie is actually. Dark, effeminate, flippant.
The Velvet Underground, Who Loves the Sun - A parody of the Beatle's optimism. Vampire to the core.
Vivaldi, Concerto #4 in F minor "Winter"; Allegro non Molto - The prettiest piece of classical music.
