Panchabhuthas (the five elements) viz: Prithvi (Earth), Appu (Water, Teja (Fire), Vayu (Air) and Aakaash (Space) are the basic elements of each and every creation in the entire Universe. Individually each of them has enormous power and virtues. Among the Panchabhuthas, Vayu, the creator of Hanuman, has a unique role.
Named after 'Vayu', this trust has taken a unique an basic role of generating awareness in the masses, on various fundamental aspects of life.
Shri. Y. Madhavrao Desai, a crisis management consultant hailing from a patriotic
family has initiated Vayu Trust with a resolve to sucessfully achieve the objective
of the Trust. The Trust has garnered the active support and encouragement of many
eminent personalities, pious and scholarly persons.
Universal Challenges and Solution
In agriculture, indiscrete heavy usage of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has led the world to a slow but sure destruction. Apart from lost health and life, both human and cattle, environmental balance is also threatened.
Revival of organic farming is the only solution. Many western countries have
already initiated this change. Our country, BHARATH, with her unique system of
organic farming using cow and cow produce (Panchakavya) can take up leadership and
guide the entire world. Our system not only gives a higher yield but also enriches
the Soil. Cow protection and environmental conservation will be the obvious outcome
of our system.
Why 'VAYU'
The Trust proposes to select at least 5 districts in each of the four southern states and develop these as models for the rest. There will be one training center in these districts and at least one Green-Info center in every Taluk of these districts. The training centers will be run with active association of Corporate sectors and the Green-Info centers by direct involvement of farmers.
We aim to convert at least one village in every Taluk of the selected districts
to 100% organic farming in the next five years. The system will bloom in all its
'Grandeur' in all the villages of our BHARATH and will span out to international
frontiers in due course. We have a grand vision for the future. Our efforts, no doubt,
will pave way for an 'ENVIRONMENTAL REVOLUTION'.
Our Immediate Task
As a first step, 'VAYU' organized a seminar on 'Indian system of Organic Farming - World Vision', in the month of June 2005, in Bangalore (soon to be renamed as Bengalooru). We sought to ensure participation of all the like minded scholars, thinkers, planners and activists in the seminar. The seminar also was the launching pad for the future plan of action.
An office and coordination center will be set up in Bangalore at the earliest. We invite you to join us in the 'Holy Yagna' with your suggestions, support (both moral and financial) and direct involvement.
Your comments, suggestions and whole-hearted support with involvement will definitely make this venture a grand success.
