NO MORE HIBERNATION

Let me borrow a line from the famous" Desiderata," which goes something like this; "Never compare yourself with others for there will always be a greater and lesser person than yourself."

Yes, people differ greatly: in size, age, mental ability, and social development, etc .

However, in their relation to God, people have much in common. By the standards of God`s evaluation, two important facts stand out, which puts both the greatest and the least on the same scale, on the same footing.

The first is the facts of sin. With good eyes, we can distinguish many colors. But with out light, all colors are the same. So also, the darkness of sin blankets and envelopes all people. Lahat makasalanann and fall short of God`s expectations.

Without the second fact which is the grace of God, the fact of sin would bring all people into divine judgement. With God, human merits does not account. I heard a speaker years ago who himself was a Ph. D." when you die, your Ph. D. will be buried with you." Academic achievement, obedience to relegious laws, even good works do not avail, for " by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God" Eph. 2:8.

In the light of divine grace there can be no boasting. Paul, one of my favourite Bible characters, a highly educated, a radical leader a member of the highest bracket in society during his time, called himself "the least of the apostles" ( Cor. 15:9 ) Another guy in the NT, John the Baptist, was a most humble man despite his important role as the forerunner of Christ, " among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist...( Matt. 11:11 ).

Sometimes we ecounter people who make us feel so tiny. Sometimes we feel so tiny even without any cause and tendency is for us to feel sorry for "poor little me." Now the good news, is God looks on your heart. If in your heart, God the Father find Jesus, you are great in God`s sight! Knowing that we who are His are great in His sight, that should make us feel special and live an exemplary lives.

Soon the world will be filled with much light and life. The trees bud, the flowers bloom, the birds sing, the foxes come out to the open. No more hibernation.

We are no longer enveloped by darkness. We have been delivered from darkness to light! The blanket of sin has been washed away. Washed by the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are already restored into a special relationship with the giver of life. We are living in the light! No more hiding in our holes. Letīs bud, letīs bloom let us fill the air with praise music for what God has done, let us come out to the open. No more hibernation for special people like you and me! There is no going without coming put. Remember the Great Commission.
