Anna was born and raised in Bulgaria, but has lived in Las Vegas since 1993. She came to attend UNLV, but is sticking around indefinitely, because Vegas rocks! The two most important beings in the world for her are Zimbee and Ike -- her two miniature schnauzers. Music rules her world; she loves listening to it and has experience performing in a number of choirs and a rock band. She also took a few piano lessons at age 6 which amounted to nothing. Other things she did as a kid included ballet for 7 years and figure skating for 5. Another passion is sports. Again, both as a spectator and participant. She's been on her schools' shooting, sailing, soccer, track and field teams at different times. About five years ago she was invited to join a Las Vegas women's hockey team, but a broken ankle at UNLV Intramural soccer practice put an end to that endeavour. Professionally she is confined behind a computer, being a holder of a Master's in Computer Science.
Poetry wise Anna worships Byron and reads a slew of diverse poets. She has multiple influences and is glad to have the support of the Vegas poets' community which nudges her in the right direction when it comes to writing (whatever that means). She is working on a chapbook consisting of a bunch of unrelated poems and some translations from her favourite Bulgarian poets.
