Passing thing as I am told was composed
and recorded as soon as Velvet Belly heard that Jeff Buckley
had died from drowning, and so it is about him. They just so
happened to be in the studio recording. It was a very traumatic
thing for many people because Jeff was so promising as a star,
and then he died so young, just before he was able to record
his second album.His death seems like a senseless shame, and
such a waste. Anyone who is or was a fan of Jeff would have been
able to relate to this song

the video clip, with a fire place behind her Anne-Marie is seen
singing while sitting on a chair with a young girl sitting on
her lap in large room of an empty old house, and the words '9
years ' hover in the air , the child gets up and walks off and
Anne-Marie later gets up, singing, to go to a clock and to feel
around it. There might be a number of clocks around the room
and looking through time appears to be a key factor.
