These characters are all roughly between the ages of eighteen and twenty - even I'm not sure exactly. Just sort of pick a number you're comfortable with. All are finished highschool, with or without OAC, and joined up with the theatre soon after.
For reference, in case anyone's wondering: Canadian/Ontario law...
Age
of consent is 16, so no problems there. As usual, adulthood is at 18, and
they can all live on their own, etc. without involvement of a parent/guardian.
Consuming alchol is allowed at 19 - not 21 - no worries. Anything else?
Okay, I know this bothers some people, so I might as well explain it. Monologue and Soliloquy (Micheal and Mathew - whatever you want to call them) have always been very close, being identical twins. Only they could truly understand each other. Their parents, while kind and supportive, wanted to have strong, athletic, "normal" sons, and thus preferred Monologue/Micheal, much to his disapproval.
Then, with the whole gang incident (which I'll get around to writing sooner or later), Soliloquy/Mathew was hurt badly as a way to get to his brother, who then vowed to protect him. They started sleeping together soon after that, though most people had thought they'd been doing that for a while.
When their parents found out, they blamed Soliloquy/Mathew, the less popular, more feminine of the two. Feeling betrayed by the people they trusted most beyond each other, the brothers left home. After that, they really only ever relied on each other, and were completely devoted to each other. They may sleep with other people sometimes, but only because nothing so small could get between them.
Still
squicked? Too bad.
This is a really simple
point, but it's one I'd like to make perfectly clear. None of my characters
smoke or do drugs. Plain and simple. Why? Because it's disgusting.
Yeah, it might be strange that out of nineteen people, none smoke tabacco
or any other substance, but that's my choice. Alcohol consumption, I can
handle. There is some of that, but none of it excessive.
And now for the endless praises to those who have helped me.
First, many thanks go to my neechan, Harukami, for her continued support and advice. She helped to create Silence's character (which will be posted, if one of us finds and types it), and a number of physical designs. She has drwn and written these characters as long as I have, and quite wonderfully. She has given much feedback - much better than mine - and helped me to finally name this site, which was a lot harder than it should have been. Credit where credit is due, and many thanks to the great and wonderful Harukami. If you're reading this, Haru - thanks for everything. Best of luck
Utopian Trunks, as well, has taken an interest and has offered to draw more for me, which will be a treat. I can't wait to see more! (Want to see more of UT's Stuff? Go through the links page to The Temple East of Sanity.)
A big thank-you goes to Caro, who asked and got me interested again, and to Taru, who pokes at me to update.
And, of course, many thanks
go to my friends, particularily Caleb and Minako, who put up with my chatter and strangeness. I'd be lost without you guys.
Feedback is always appreciated, so please send any questions or comments. E-mail links are a kind of scattered, so here's a handy place to find what you need.
