-Part 1- Heaven Is Never Forever Aya sat in the
dimmed flowershop, glaring outside at the darkened streets. Though he was with
Ken, for some reason he didn't feel as happy as he usually did. He
felt terribly alone. Ken had draped
himself over the redhead as Aya pruned his flowers quietly. It seemed as if
evenings that they prepared bouquets were the slowest. Especially when Girl's
Day came around. Those were the hardest! So many orders. Ken couldn't stand it,
and Aya didn't like the idea of having girls draped all over his beloved
Siberian. It was bad enough they could only show affection when they were
alone. Like
now. So Ken took
advantage of the situation, placing tiny kisses along Aya's jawline, enjoying
the fact that Aya's breath hitched with ever kiss. It was after hours, so it
wasn't like it made a difference, and Ken ultimately proved that point. As Aya snipped
quietly, Ken reached up to stroke the glorious crimson hair that Aya adorned,
and with a muffled sigh, Aya dropped the cutters, falling into Ken's relaxed
arms. As he eased himself into the lap of his lover, he turned, and straddling
his hips, he nibbled on Ken's lips and slid his eyes shut, preparing to be
enveloped in gray-green velvetness. A tiny red laser
traced it's way through the flowershop window. It gave sight to Ken and Aya
sitting quietly in the chair. As the tiny light made a target out of Ken's
shoulder, it moved, hovering over the back of his neck. In what seemed to be an
eternity later, aim was taken, and in an eyeblink the sound was heard. A faint
pumping noise. Indicative
of a silencer. No
one on the street would have heard that. The
bullet raced towards Ken's unprotected throat, practically screaming through
the air. Aya broke a
sweet kiss from his lover and stroking Ken's cheek, looked down to see the tiny
red light fly off Ken's shoulder. His eyes widened with terror, and he knew he
only had about .0002 seconds to run like hell. And
he did. Aya shouted,
startling Ken, and yanking him to the floor. Clutching his beloved, he fell to
the ground, breathing hard as the bullet made an impact on the table. Right
were Ken had been sitting only seconds ago. Grabbing the
brunette by the hand, he dragged him from the flowershop, crouching low to the
ground as he watched the tiny red laser disappear, only to appear once more on
the floor by Aya's feet. The
sniper had moved. Aya cursed
loudly, and pulled Ken out of the hallway and hurried down the stairs, into the
windowless basement. The redhead figured they'd be safe until Kritiker showed
up. Yet
somewhere in the back of his mind, a tiny voice told him assuming could lead to
death. With a quick
dial, he addressed the problem with Manx and slid into one of the over sized
chairs, sighing deeply. Looking up, he turned to Ken, who stood at the bottom
of the spiral stairs, trembling. Aya's eyes widened as a tear slipped down
Ken's cheek. "Ken..?"
he questioned softly. The
brunette held his arm out to try and reach Aya. "Aya.."
Ken whispered, and a strangled sob stopped him from moving further. As he tried
to step down, the brunette tripped, falling down the remaining two stairs,
sprawling onto the floor on his chest. "KEN!"
Aya screamed. Ken
had been shot in the back. He
never knew what hit him. [To Be Continued] |
